George Bush Hosts Laughing Liberally This Saturday

by: Juan Melli

Wed Dec 27, 2006 at 02:05:47 PM EST

Laughing Liberally - an organization started by the same folks that brought you Drinking Liberally - is hosting a live one-night comedy show in New York this Saturday. It's hosted by George Bush and features special guest and famed comedian, the real Congressman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY).
DeLay retired...Rumsfeld resigned...Bush became a lame duck...Cheney shot a dude in the face...who can forget 2006?

At times we had to laugh to keep from crying, but in the end, we who laughed last, laughed loudest.

Remember 2006 and welcome 2007 at this special one-night event.

The show is this Saturday at 8:30PM at the 1,500 seat Town Hall in New York. The event is hosted by George Bush, and features Congressman Rangel, Jim David (Comedy Central Presents), Dean Obeidallah (NY Arab-American Comedy Festival), Reno (Bravo & HBO), Katie Halper (Yearly Kos), Lee Camp (E!) & Music by Jamie Jackson (Caroline's). Tickets and more details are available through Laughing Liberally's website.

The Story Behind 'Think Equal'

by: JRB

Mon Dec 11, 2006 at 12:17:12 PM EST

What we're doing is somewhat novel for the netroots. Often campaigns like these go from video to the web. We went from the web to video. And while our campaign is aimed at New Jersey's voters, it's also directed at the netroots around the country. For this reason, we've been getting some e-mails asking us how Think Equal came together. What inspired us to do this and, more so, how we pulled it off. So here's the story:

Laughing Liberally

From the same people who brought you Drinking Liberally, Laughing Liberally - "saving democracy one laugh at a time" - is back in New York tomorrow night after a successful first show in February.

Like blogs and Drinking Liberally, this is another critical component in building a progressive social network, though this one has a bit less alcohol, no dark dive bars, and is much funnier. The show will be in Town Hall tomorrow night in New York, and tickets are still available.

It will feature comics from Air America, Comedy Central & from the Town Hall debut, music by Jamie Jackson and Elizabeth June and a video with Janeane Garofalo & Sam Seder.
