Tom Wyka, NJ-11 Congressional Candidate No surprise here - Tom is working hard to get this thing to the next level. Always a pleasure to chat with. The only thing unexpected tonight was Jay's appearance. Have a listen - JG
Each week, Blue Jersey Radio streams LIVE with New Jersey's latest political buzz, interviews with newsmakers, and your stimulating calls.
This week: Our guest is NJ-11 Congressional Candidate Tom Wyka, who is back for a rematch against Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen in a District where the Dems have cut the Republican registration advantage by 20,000 voters this year alone. Tune in tonight at 8:00 p.m. and find out what Tom's got planned this year to finish the job he started in 2006.
We'll take your calls starting at 8:00 p.m. at:
(646) 652-2773
Talk to you then!
Now, don't worry if you get here early, because you can always listen to last week's show, featuring Josh Zeitz, Congressional Candidate in NJ-4 (with its brand new democratic registration advantage). It's definitely worth a listen.

In case you missed it, last week, we were joined by Freeheld Director Cynthia Wade LIVE from Los Angeles, on the eve of the Acadamy Awards, and she was great. She sent us some LA warmth, and we sent her some NJ love. And it must have worked, because sure enough - she took home the Oscar.

Update: Cynthia was great. It's not every day you get to talk to an Oscar nominee on the eve of the awards show. Good Luck Freeheld! (we'll be watching!) - Jeff

It's Oscar weekend, and this week on Blue Jersey Radio, we're joined by Freeheld Director Cynthia Wade LIVE from Los Angeles, where she is vying for an Academy Award for her incredible documentary of the Laurel Hester story.
Freeheld chronicles one of the most courageous struggles we have ever witnessed, one that galvanized the progressive GLBT and straight communities in New Jersey. Alternating from packed public demonstrations at the county courthouse to quiet, tender moments of Laurel and Stacie at home, "Freeheld" combines tension-filled political drama with personal detail, creating a nuanced study of a grassroots fight for justice. And - special bonus - more than a few faces and names familiar to Blue Jersey appear on screen.
Join us LIVE Saturday morning from 10:30am to 11:00am for a conversation on politics and film, love and money, and all the glitz and glamour of the Oscars. We'll take your calls at:
(646) 652-2773
Whether the Oscar goes to this deserving film, we won't know until Sunday night. But, Laurel will always be a winner in the hearts of New Jersey progressives, as will Director Cynthia Wade for capturing it all.
And, speaking of Sunday night, if you're not already booked, why not join us really really LIVE (and in person) at Garden State Equality's Oscar Party, featuring a Free Screening of Freeheld. It's at 7pm sharp at the South Orange Performing Arts Center, and it promises to be a blast.
This is an open thread: Leave your Oscar predictions in the comments.

This week: For a lame duck, that bird sure could quack! And that was just one of many hot topics, as all the while, the presidential race heats up with an "upset" in New Hampshire, a big Obama rally in NJ, and just over 3 weeks til New Jersey's February 5th Primary.
I, for one, am exhausted.
But, nothing slows Jay down! And, we'd both love to hear what's on your mind. Give us a call at: (646) 652-2773

Senator-elect Ruiz Ruiz, Lassiter and Gardner.A high-powered lawfirm? Actually, no - it's the theme of this week's edition of Blue Jersey Radio! LIVE tomorrow (Saturday) from 10:30-11a!
Call in: (646) 652-2773
Senator-elect Ruiz (D-Newark) represents a trend in Trenton: young, smart, diverse and -- notably this year -- female.
Lame duck is almost over and come January, there's gonna be a lot of new faces, including Ruiz, who replaces Sharpe James as Newark's newest non-prurient voice in the Legislature.
But remember, even with special guests like the lady Senator-elect, we are NOTHING without your phone calls.
That # again: (646) 652-2773.

(LIVE RADIO WITH YOU CALLS!!! 10:30am! - promoted by Jay Lassiter)
Every Saturday morning at 10:30, Blue Jersey Radio streams LIVE with Trenton's latest buzz, interviews with newsmakers, and your stimulating calls.
This week: In addition to debuting our swanky new BJ Radio Logo, we were joined by 14th District Senate Candidate Seema Singh, as she heads into the campaign home stretch.
Jay adds: She really is a razor sharp candidate and her passion was obvious. While you're listening, make sure to check out Seema's website which highlights just how un-moderate Bill Baroni can be. (Note to Baroni: there is a lot more to being moderate than not hating on gays, IMHO.)
Could that be why he didn't accept our challenge?

Now, if you're scratching your head about that last question, you must not have listened to last week's show. But, good news - there's still time.
And when you're finished, you can surf through ALL our shows on our BlogTalkRadio page. Or download them all here:
(But, more importantly, does this logo make me look fat?)

Did you miss it? Good thing we gotcha covered!
Baby, if you've ever wondered,
Wondered whatever became of me,
I'm living on the air in Cincinnati,
Cincinnati, WKRP...BJR.
Every Saturday morning at 10:30, Blue Jersey Radio streams LIVE from somewhere with Trenton's latest buzz, interviews with newsmakers, and your calls.
This week: That somewhere is Cincinnati, OH, and that buzz you hear is actually coming from D.C. as Jay shares his week in Washington with New Jersey's Congressional delegation.
If you ever happen to miss a show (horror or horrors!) there's always the ol' BlogTalkRadio page and listen to one of our archived segments, like last week's show.
Better yet - make it easy on yourself, and just Subscribe here and download shows automatically to your iPod:

But remember - only LIVE callers get to hear themselves talk.
