Many exciting things are going on in Morris County in the coming days and we’d love New Jersey’s progressive community to know about them:
Saturday March 10th 11am, Morristown St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Meet behind the Municipal building at 200 South Street in Morristown and look for the Morris County Democrats group and the DFA/PDA banners. After the march, meet at the Democratic HQ at 11 Washington Street for Refreshments.
Saturday March 17th, 7:30pm Dave Cochran and Jim Long host a St Patrick’s Day party for Progressives. Donations strongly encouraged. Jim will cook up some of his best Irish food for the partygoeers. Email Jal@rentshark.com for more details.
Saturday March 24th, 10AM, Morris County Democrats Spring Brunch with Assembly Speaker Joe Roberts. $50 per person at the Knoll Country Club East on Knoll Road in Parsippany. More information at www.MorrisDems.org. RSVP by emailing Sarah Dundas at firstname.lastname@example.org
In addition to those exciting events there are several ongoing events including the Friday night peace vigil on the Morristown green from 6pm-7pm and drinking liberally chapters in Morristown and Dover (www.drinkingliberally.org)
Finally, once again, expect us to field strong progressive challengers to all our right-wing mountain men in the Legislature.
Kudos to Dave Modrak of Montville who has stepped forward in District 26 (eastern Morris) and Gina Genovese of Long Hill who has stepped forward in District 21 (southeastern Morris). We expect more to come in the coming weeks.
We appreciate the support of Blue Jersey for our efforts as true blue progressives living in Red Morris!
Chip Robinson, Morris County Democrats and Morris DFA/PDA
