Not NJ: Also, Not Al Qaeda in Benghazi

promoted by Rosi

OK, Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State when the attacks on Benghazi killed three Americans on September 11, 2012.  And she is the Democrat Chris Christie is most often polled against for President.  So there’s a teeny-tiny NJ in this one:

A months-long investigation by The New York Times “turned up no evidence that Al Qaeda or other international terrorist groups had any role” in the assaults last year on a U.S. diplomatic mission and a C.I.A. compound in Benghazi, Libya.

The attack on Sept. 11, 2012 resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens.

The Times’ investigation relied on “extensive” interviews with Libyans in Benghazi who had direct knowledge of the attack. The report concludes that the attack was led by local fighters who “had benefited directly from NATO’s extensive air power and logistics support during the uprising against Colonel Qaddafi.” And — contrary to claims made by Republicans — the Times also reports that the incident “was fueled in large part by anger at an American-made video denigrating Islam.”

Caught On Tape: “Aspirin Between the Knees” – Chris Smith Republicans

Snaps to the young women who approached Chris Smith volunteers, and had a camera ready. And thanks to Middletown Mike for catching this story. Promoted by Rosi

Wow, I’m shocked but I guess I shouldn’t be.

Congressman Chris Smith (NJ-4) is a a staunch Catholic right to lifer, who believes that woman should not be in control of their own bodies and has declared war on a woman’s right to make choices that impact her health and her life.

Smith is part of the radical right-wing of the Republican Party that supports eliminating key preventive health services for women. He has fought against services like mammograms, cervical cancer screenings, and birth control, with no additional co-pays provided by the Affordable Care Act.

To him, women are second-class citizens.

Here is a video of a woman asking members of Republican Congressman Chris Smith’s staff about his policy on birth control. They reply by asking her if “she has ever heard about keeping aspirin between her knees?… It works every time it starts”.

When the woman asks if that was a serious comment their response was,”about as serious as you want to take it”.

Well, I and others take this very seriously and I think Mr. Smith should clarify what his representatives meant by their statements and denounce their comments.
