Shout out to Bonnie Watson Coleman campaign staffer Robert Field, who captained only the 3rd 24-hour money blitz in NJ campaign history, raising more than $7k mostly with small-dollar donations as intended, and creating an event that engaged the involvement of 139 participants who spread the word friend-to-friend, and joined Rush Holt, Cory Booker, BWC’s Assembly colleagues Troy Singleton, Dan Benson, and Joe Cryan, the state party, several county parties and more to drive the event.
I was in touch with BWC’s young campaign staffer many times as he worked this project to crowdsource funding for the CD12 candidate. And I know he worked nearly 24 hours straight. That’s the kind of dedication he has to Bonnie Watson Coleman, in whom he sees leadership, guts, bedrock progressive thinking and character worthy of inheriting the seat in Congress now held by one of New Jersey’s best, Rush Holt. His belief in her mirrors the dedication I felt Rush Holt deserved when I was his campaign staffer when we saw him to Congress in 1998. I see so many of the same inspiring qualities in Bonnie that I saw in Rush. And so does Robert; his faith in his candidate is clear-eyed, but powerful. Thank you to him for his 24-hours of great work, and to all who helped drive this money blitz – and are still adding to it – good on you.
Robert, you did Notre Dame proud.
