Jersey City Councilman arrested for urinating on crowd

by: Jason Springer

Sun Nov 09, 2008 at 03:26:52 PM EST

Another wonderful representation of New Jersey:
The New York Daily News reports in today's editions that two-term Jersey City councilman Steve Lipski has been charged with simple assault.

The newspaper says 44-year-old Lipski was removed from a place called the Nightclub 9:30 on Friday night.

That's after club staffers saw him relieve himself onto the crowd from a second floor balcony during a concert by a Grateful Dead tribute ban.

Beautiful. Not only did he urinate in public, but he did it onto other people.  And from the Daily News Story, we get what could be the quote of the year:
"We've dealt with this man before," the source added. "He's never peed on anybody, but he gets really belligerent and drunk."
I'm guessing the Councilman will be seeing that quote again.  What was wrong, they didn't have any bathrooms he could use?

....at least it was a Grateful dead tribute show and not Chopin at Symphony Hall.

Right?

I've been known to frequent both. As a general rule, deadheads don't like being p***ed on any more than anybody else. It ain't exactly "Wake of the flood, laughing waters ... " (Name that tune!)

If you think the Councilman is pissed, you should meet the people he pee'd on!

Seriously, I hope they run some tests on the folks who were peed on and their clothes.  There's no telling what kinds of diseases they may have been exposed to!

Also, he should, at least have to pay all their cleaning bills!

It's telling that this is what he does when drugs have disinhibited him, eh?  How effin rude!

I used to be quite the naughty little roadie... (0.00 / 0)
Worked for the biggest bands, had disposable income, partied lots, ingested things that just were really idiotic and generally turned the fool. I even had the roadies implied license for craven barbarity.

Never, ever did I or any of my associates in creative pharmacology and free-floating stupidity ever consider, even for a moment, something that boneheaded.

And when it came to boneheaded, we were pretty damned good at it.

Kudos, you jerk. You outdid even crazed roadies. You went where even we would never think of going. And we could think of a lot.

    Disgusting bastard.

    Mud Sh-sh-shark
We're gonna do a little dancing,
A little dancing thing called the Mud Shark
Now, this dance started up in Seattle ...

And THAT's enough of that - I could explain it to you (except that this is a family blog) but there ain't NO ONE could understand it for you ...

Jimmy Carl Black just died. Zappa's been gone 15 years. Hard to fathom ...

    I have stayed at The Edgewater. (0.00 / 0)
One of the guys on the crew, a Scottish Fellow, caught a Mudshark(disgusting things they are) from his hotel room window. He was so proud of that fish.

And the lore and legend behind it? Well, when we were done drinking herbal teas and reading the Gideon's Bible on our nights off, that was one of the tales told round the fire.

The amazing part is that the story is largely true, but with certain details left out that exonerate the MEMBERS of Led Zeppelin. But certainly NOT the crew. ;-)

Oh, the stories I could tell. On the other hand, I find the possibilities of an early demise by unexplained misadventure less than enticing.

We'll see how long this lasts ... actually, I'm rooting for him. I haven't had a drink since a week before St. Patrick's Day in 1989. What Lipski did smacks of an alcoholic blackout. Even I never p****ed on anyone, and I have done some mightily outrageous, bizarre and illegal things while drunk. Bon chance, Steve, and skip the bon temp roulez for a while ...
