Tom Kean Jr's Race-Baiting Robocalls

by: Juan Melli

Mon Nov 06, 2006 at 09:49:17 PM EST

Tom Kean jr has spent the last year desecrating the only asset he had, his last name, by running a campaign void of ideas and full of smears. The only reason he was ever taken seriously is because of daddy. His father came into office by the slimmest of margins thanks to a blatantly racist voter intimidation campaign, so it shouldn't be surprising that Junior chose to end his campaign in a similarly racist fashion.

Junior is blanketing the state with last-minute race-baiting robocalls, trying to connect Bob Menendez to illegal immigration. This desperate Hail Mary pass is the modern equivalent of the Southern Strategy. Racist campaign tactics aren't just for Tennessee any more. Appealing to people's darkest, most hate-filled instincts is the Tom Kean jr and the Republican party's only hope for success. Pathetic scum.

"Now he wants us to give your Social Security benefits to illegal migrants. New Jersey seniors deserve far better than having your money go to those who broke the law. You can stop the Menendez plan to give your money to illegal migrants by voting for Tom Kean."

"Each year hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants are crossing our borders. And the threat of terrorists entering our nation is very real which is why in the Senate I will fight for secure border and more border patrol. My opponent supports amnesty and has voted to give out Social Security benefits to illegal migrants and I believe that is unacceptable."

Don't we have laws? (0.00 / 0)
Its no real surprise that a desperate Republican campaign turns to the race car to pull out the blind discrimination vote... its part of their base.

What's surprising to me is that we, the public, just agree that this is the "accepted" practices of a political campaign.  Don't we have laws to prevent these sort of lies and deliberate misdirection?

Well, I guess dealing with this flawed system didn't make Speaker Hastert's TO-DO list.  Perhaps we will see it with the coming of the 110th Congress under the leadership of Speaker Pelosi.

The Sun rises on a new day tomorrow, and everyday ever after.

Tomorrow we take our Country back.

Exactly what are "illegal migrants"?  I migrated here from Florida - I'm not sure if I broke any laws to do so.

To hell with what she wants, let's make Rosi Efthim the next DSC chair.

Tom Kean Jr's Race-Baiting Robocalls (0.00 / 0)
I am one of the recieptients of constant unsolicited calls from the Tom Kean Jr's "Robocalls" to the point that I had to turn my elderly mothers phone ringer off because of the harrassing calls! I am incensed that this is legal and you can also get the messages on your Cellphone as a call and/or a text message which we pay for! Our Home #'s are unlisted (We PAY FOR that feature!) We are on the "DO NOT CALL LIST" However, the Republican powers that be made that legal for Political campaigns immune from this practice!
This is Racist, Intimidating and DISGUSTING! How low and desperate can a Candidate be to stoop to "Robocalls" and trying to "Bully" people to vote for them by inferring that if you vote for their opponent you are in favor of Illegal activites! SHAME! I can say that the calls made up our minds on who to vote for...I can say that it will NOT be for our "Constant Caller!" This also makes me wonder how much voting accounting problems/irregularities there will be throughout OUR nation! It seems the word DEMORCACY is getting a new definition in these times!

STILL BELIEVE IN THE AMERICAN DREAM!

The Republicans are brittle and afraid. (0.00 / 0)
They see their empire slipping, and with it their privileges and the heady cocktail of corporation and foreign policy they've used to concentrate their own wealth.

Fearful people do fearsome things. These people lost their decency quite a while ago.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

A Pathetic Joke (4.00 / 1)
On the call where Kean is actually speaking, he can barely read his script.

I can understand that he has a speech deficit; but you would think that, at least when recording a robocall his handlers would have him slow down a wee bit, chill, and enunciate.

I think his obvious incompetence and anoying manner will drive more and more people away from him...all this last minute smearing will backfire and that by this time tomorrow morning Menendez will have won by ten!

Kean is Bush without Rove and a lower IQ.
