APP picks up on lack of national support for Myers

by: Jason Springer

Sun Sep 07, 2008 at 04:05:07 PM EDT

Somebody better get Tom Wilson some tums.  Last week he talked about how sick and pissed he'd be if the NRCC doesn't support Chris Myer's campaign for Congress.  We've talked about the lack of national support here at Blue Jersey, but today the Asbury Park questions their non-interest:
Are Republicans doing everything they can to help Medford Mayor Chris Myers become the next distinguished gentleman from New Jersey?

Late last month, the National Republican Congressional Committee purchased media time in 14 congressional races across the country, but the 3rd Congressional District in the Garden State did not make the cut.

Actually, those 14 races were the 2nd media buy the NRCC has made.  In fact, with less than sixty days until election day, NJ-3 is still not even among the top 26 races for the NRCC. If I'm the Myers campaign, this doesn't re-assure me that support will be coming as we move forward:
"The NRCC is working very hard in a very difficult environment to raise funding for its races nationwide," Spain said. "There are many competitive races, and the NRCC is the main source of assistance for a lot of the candidates out there across the country."
NJ-3 is one of the most expensive media markets in the country with the district split forcing you to make buys in both the Philly and NYC market.  Tom Wilson better pull a Cuba Gooding Jr. and start shouting "show me the money", followed by extensive begging when that doesn't work because Myers is going to need it to get his message (which so far has seemed more like a campaign for state office than Federal) out to the voters.

On Red Light Cameras... (0.00 / 0)
I have no problem with cameras....so long as EVERYONE is subject to being held equally accountable.

First and foremost are the POLICE!!!  Then I would impose this rule on all judges who hear these cases....they too should be held to the highest of standards, eh?

People in power routinely break traffic laws and get away with it.  If it can ever be shown that a cop let another cop or a judge off as a favor; then they should both be fired....and be subject to criminal charges.

There needs to be massive "integrity testing" of our cops and public officials.

Every second a cop is on duty or driving needs to be recorded.  The technology is there now to do this cheaply and to store the data cheaply.

Cops routinely speed and drive as if they own the road.

The only time they are allowed to violate the rules is if they have their lights and/or siren going...and even then they are legally bound to use good judgment.

Again, let's ALL be held accountable...EQUALLY!   That's only fair....that's only justice.

Imagine how much safer and more courteous life on the road would be if everyone knew that everyone else had video recorders in their cars recording every moment of what happens around that vehicle.

No more lies in court!  No more aggressive assholes putting other people's lives at risk just so they can save 2 seconds on a trip to the store.

Whatever happens in public is already in the public domain...and that's fine.

Hell, insurance rates should be cut by 80% in a total surveillance scenario.....the insurance companies should be forced to pass on any savings.

If we're going down this route; then it's fucking "Big Brother" himself that needs to be totally 100% surveiled FIRST and foremost!!!

Ooops... (0.00 / 0)
This was meant to be in the daily summary diary http://www.bluejersey.com/show... ....in response to

Transportation
# Twelve New Jersey towns will test drive red light cameras, the state Department of Transportation has announced.

I had multiple tabs opened and obviously posted to the wrong one....apologies to Jason, for any confusion.
