Results Thread!!!!

UPDATE: John McCain concedes.  Will Obama make him Secretary of Defense?

UPDATE: Stender concedes in NJ7.

I will be heading over to the Shulman victory party in a bit, and am also live blogging the NJ-3, NJ-5 and NJ-7 results at Daily Kos, but consider this the live results thread.

Polls obviously close at 8PM, and we will post results as we get them in.  There are other Blue Jersey front pagers who are at the Adler and Stender camps, so hopefully they will be checking in as well (and feel free to edit this with any info that comes in as well).

I spent the day canvassing in Glen Rock after voting at 7AM, and it was bee-you-tee-ful outside.

How was your day?

OK--so there isn't now is wireless here, and I am plugged in, so the updates may not be as quick as I would like.   Other front pagers - please add what you can if you can.

Here is link to the NJ results for all races.

************

UPDATE:  NJ called for Obama!!

UPDATE:  MSNBC calls it for Lautenberg.  Let's guess if he wins by more than 20%.

UPDATE (NJ-3):  With 58% reporting, Adler has cut into Myers' lead, which is now 53% - 47%.  Adler wins, Myers concedes.  NJ delegation now 8-5.

UPDATE (NJ-5): It doesn't look good for Dennis.  With 89% of Bergen reporting and none from Sussex, Garrett is up by 6% in Bergen and by 10% overall.  Race called for Garrett.  Dennis now giving concession speech - but it is a helluva speech.  I am very proud to have been involved with this campaign and a shout out to Dennis and Jeff Hauser for all they did and stood for.

UPDATE (NJ-7):  With 52% 63% in, it is still 52-41%, Lance leading.  Word from local campaign offices (not Stender's, but other campaigns) is that things are not looking good.

this is the nervewracking time (0.00 / 0)
I'm confident but nervous.

It's over (4.00 / 2)
McCain can't win without Pa.

I call it at 8:03

nice to see in PA (0.00 / 0)
And if the polls were right there, hopefully they were right in VA, OH, FL, etc.

the VA early returns (4.00 / 1)
were from "real Virginia".

So I wouldn't worry here.  I hear that Richmond was going big for Obama and didn't start to come in yet.

Scott Garrett - on the wrong side of, well, everything.

MSNBC calls it for Lautenberg (0.00 / 0)
not exactly a shock.

nope, but (0.00 / 0)
the margin will be the one to watch for us who made predictions last night...

Thanks Clammy (4.00 / 1)
Have a blast tonight.  You can ignore my post to you on Kos - the link you posted here was the one I had found.  I was hoping there was something better.  ANy speculation on Stender yet?

nothing yet (0.00 / 0)
the NJ election results site sucks and we aren't hearing anything yet from the campaigns.

As soon as I do, I will post it.

This site is better (4.00 / 1)
http://www.nj.com/elections/in...

I'm not sure how they have better data than the official NJ site, but they do.

yeah, I don't get it, (0.00 / 0)
but thx for the link.  I added it here and at kos.

Brain McGinnis and I are at the Adler Party (4.00 / 2)
Brian is rather tired.  He gave me permission to say that GOTV has made him drueling and incoherent.   We're waiting to hear results.   There isn't anything on the Burlco Clerk Site or the Camco Clerk site.   The Ocean County Clerk site is the only one with results coming in.

hey---if/when you hear anything (0.00 / 0)
call my cell.

you should have the number from my email...

MSNBC calls Ohio for Obama (0.00 / 0)
well, the old map with the big addition after all.

Local results (4.00 / 1)
North Plainfield swept its election, with the Mayor and four council seats in the air.  That means the Democrats control all the elected positions in town.

In Green Brook -- pending absentees and provisionals -- the Democrats took two seats to give it a three to two majority.  They control it for the first time in decades.

MSNBC is essentially calling the election for Obama.

NJ-03-What We Have to Make Up (4.00 / 2)
Alright, as of 9:45 p.m., 94% of the Ocean County vote is in for NJ-03, and we're down by 12,500 votes. All of the votes in right now are from Ocean County, the most Republican part of the the district.

Adler can win this seat with the BurlCo and Cherry Hill vote, and 12,500 isn't that much to make up. I'm cautiously optimistic, folks; the numbers for Myers were supposed to be stronger in OceanCo.

Huge news about of BurlCo (4.00 / 1)
Friends, we've been talking about BurlCo GOP corruption on Blue Jersey since day one. Well, guess what: WE TOOK TWO FREEHOLDER SEATS AND THE COUNTY CLERK RACE! (Forgive the all caps; I'm really, really excited about this). Dems haven't had a BurlCo freeholder slot since something like the early 80s.

ADLER WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All that hard work, all those hours. It paid off. You're going to be so proud of Adler, I promise.

I'm here with Blue Jersey Alum (4.00 / 5)
and Adler staffer Jay Lassiter who is to excited about the Adler victory to say very much.  He's just sitting here marveling at the scene.  We have a new Congressman in the 3rd District, and his name is John Adler.

To go along with it, we won both Freeholder seats and the Clerks office.  This is a HUGE night in Burlington County for the Democrats.

congrats (4.00 / 1)
one pickup is 2 too few, but a pickup is a pickup.

And you guys kicked ass.  Mad props to Jay too for all he did.

Obama statement to me and you (4.00 / 1)
via e-mail to his supporters:

I'm about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.

We just made history.

And I don't want you to forget how we did it.

You made history every single day during this campaign -- every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it's time for change.

I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.

We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next.

But I want to be very clear about one thing...

All of this happened because of you.

Thank you,

Barack
