Rodneys lack of Main St. & internet presence

by: FogerRox

Rodney Frelinghuysen Videos ? Good luck finding much content generated by Rodney Frelinghuysen volunteers or his staff or campaign. A Google video search of "Rodney Frelinghuysen" yields one volunteer video, 2 C-span videos, and the 4th video is a clip from Sundays debate between Rodney Frelinghuysen and Tom Wyka filmed by Nick Lento, the 5th video is Congressman Frelinghuysen at the RNC, the next 5 videos are are all generated by Wyka volunteers.

SO the first page of hits has 4 Rodney Frelinghuysen videos and 6 Tom Wyka videos.

FogerRox :: Rodneys lack of Main St. & internet presence
Lack of Internet presence:

A You Tube search yields a 16 to 3 Tom Wyka advantage. For an accumulative score of 22 to 7, too bad videos don't vote, Tom would win in a landslide.

Lets take a stroll over to Congressman Frelinghuysen's campaign web site. And its a good looking website... except I don't see how to volunteer for the Congressman's campaign. Is this a reflection of  Rodney Frelinghuysens view of volunteerism ? After all in a year like this, the Congressman needs all the help he can get. I clicked on the button for newsletter, and... theres nothing but a message saying "coming soon". Not for nothing Congressman, as Tom Wyka's website notes, there is only 6 days left until election day.

Of course the Congressman's donate link works just fine, and of course donations don't matter much for a guy who could write himself a million dollar check for the campaign. All the other links lead to content, so 5 out of 6 links go someplace with content.

Looking at Tom Wyka's website all front page links to content, but also on the front page are the 6 most recent press releases from the campaign, a form to sign up for the campaign newsletter, Tom's most recent you tube on healthcare, a download center for volunteer hand outs, a sign up for free Wyka lawn signs, and volunteer signup form, plus 5 more links, including Rodneys Report Card.

Lack of Main St presence:

I think we can just about pin down the time the Frelinghuysen campaign did their internal poll, just before Rodney started his radio and tv buys. But radio and tv ads are not the way to counter the 3 year insurgent grassroots campaign led by Tom Wyka. certainly not in a year like this one.

The Wyka campaign started contacting Independent voters in June, knowing that they are the key to winning in this district. With Obama and Wyka doing well amongst Independent voters I can understand why the Frelinghuysen campaign is nervous. And I encourage the Frelinghuysen campaign to continue making mis-steps, while my friends and I hit the streets with 100's of volunteers on behalf of Barack Obama and Tom Wyka asking folks for their vote.
