Singletery for Freeholder: "So What" Is Not A Good Management Style

by: huntsu

This year there is a real chance that Democrats can take one or two seats on the Somerset County Freeholder Board.  For years the myth of the "good managers" Republican Freeholders has kept them in power as they're raised tax collections by millions every year with unchecked spending.

Shockingly, Republican Freeholder Peter Palmer voluntarily said "So What" to the fact that many managers in the county are paid more than 90 percent of Governors in the United States.  Democratic councilman Doug Singleterry from North Plainfield nails him by noting that Palmer may pass out high salaries all he wants, Singleterry has voted against pay raises in these difficult times.

You can donate to Singleterry and his running mate Cecilia Birge at Change for Somerset.

Zaborowski's "So What" night comment (0.00 / 0)
I was present at the Montgomery Township candidates forum the night that Palmer exclaimed his infamous "So What!"  Bob Zaborowski, the other Republican candidate (and now winner), made a similarly shocking comment during the forum.  When challenged on the fact that Somerset County will not pass Pay-to-Play reform, he stated (paraphrasing), "I don't know where campaign contributions come from."  Really? Really? (de SNL Weekend Update) Really?  This is a flat out lie by Zaborowski...either that or, someone forges his signature on election finances forms that I've seen with my own eyes.  He signed the forms, which list companies that contributed to his last re-election campaign (which overlap significantly with companies that have no-bid contracts with the county).  I guess Zab assumed nobody would check the facts.  People did (see Change for Somerset webpage), but I guess not enough people did...or voters didn't care that Zab is a liar?  If the pair hadn't lost my vote already...they sure would have that night at the forum.
