Tom Wyka Forum/Debate Drama

by: Nick Lento

Tue Oct 28, 2008 at 10:32:48 AM EDT

Sunday Morning's candidate forum/"debate" at Temple Beth Am in Parsippany had a few moments of high drama.

As some of you may remember ( http://www.bluejersey.net/show... ) I was kind of displeased that people had to "sneak in" recording devices to capture Rodney in action in public forums.

So I decided to attend this event and sit as close as I could to Rodney and openly video the event, despite the stated "rules" to the contrary....

Nick Lento :: Tom Wyka Forum/Debate Drama
...I was fully prepared to be kicked out for doing that; but I felt it was worthwhile to document such a blatantly undemocratic event.  There was no way I was turning off the camera, so my expulsion would have been fully documented.

As you will see, democracy won the day!!! (Thanks in great measure to a vociferous champion who just happened to be seated to my immediate right.....he obviously was able to see me recording and became righteously incensed when he realized how inappropriate it was to enforce such a "rule".  Now that's a mitzvah!!!  ;-)

The fellow asking the question was also holding a camera, and was the person to whom the "enforcer" was directing his request....though he obviously knew that if he could get the youngster (compared to me ;-) to cave, that he could then direct his  "enforcement" action toward the old fart in the front.

Oh, and yes, the actual question and responses from Tom and Rodney were also quite illuminating!

If you want to see the whole forum (about an hour) go to http://blip.tv/file/1400777

Enjoy!!!

Rodney's campaign told (4.00 / 1)
the Temple that both campaigns had agreed to a no video tape policy, that was a lie.

Just goes to show....

Check out my 3 paragraph primer on Polywell Fusion.

A Serious Lie! (0.00 / 0)
Rodney Frelinghuysen should own up to the lie from his campaign and fire/diecipline whoever told the lie.

If Rodney was told that Wyka had agreed to those terms, who told him?

Is there anyone in Rodney Frelinghuysen's organization willing to truly come clean on this one?

Bottom lines:

Even if both campaigns had approved it still would have been wrong.

The only way I can see a no recording policy as valid is if it's an invitation only even limited to individuals who know of and agree to the policy.   So long as he general public is invited to a public forum between candidates running for public office, such a policy is fundamentally un-American/undemocratic.

Why isn't this a leading story in the "professional" press???

Whenever a public servant goes to great lengths to hide from the public it should be a clarion call for ALL media to focus on the perp and to point out the perfidy.

We have a "press" that doesn't wish to press for the truth.  Why?
