Here's Josh in the accompanying press release:

The voters I speak with are shocked and outraged when they learn Chris Smith refuses to live in New Jersey [snip] ... For many of them, learning Smith receives in-state tuition discounts in Virginia is the final straw. It's not too much to ask that our representative in Congress actually lives in New Jersey.

I'll bet they're shocked. Seems outrageous, and I don't know why the local media would ignore that. Voters deserve to know this. It's great that Josh has raised enough money to get the message out on this issue, finally.

That said, I think this ad could easily have been pared down to 30 seconds - it's far wordier and longer than it needs to be. And maybe worse, I'm not sure what to make of the "8 nights in 2007" quote, which doesn't seem to jive with the Politicker article the press release cites as authority for that claim.

The Chris Smith not living in New Jersey story seems like an IOKIYAR situation. If only Smith were a Democrat, the Asbury Park Press would be on this story with great vengeance and furious anger.
