No shame

I could barely believe it:
Two days after James reported to jail, Central Ward Council candidate Charles Bell received a $5,000 donation to his campaign fund from James, according to campaign records filed with the State Election Law Enforcement Commission.

Oh, but it gets "better":

"I'm a little disappointed Sharpe James didn't give me more money," Bell said. "He must be sitting on a million dollars he can use for political purposes. I need money and what he did was perfectly legal."

snip
But Bell said there's nothing wrong with older generation politicians like Sharpe James- or his money.

"I'm hoping he can find some way to give me more money," said Bell.

Geez.

OMG, you can't make this stuff up (0.00 / 0)
I had to follow the link, just to be sure. Holy Smoke.

Check out my 3 paragraph primer on Polywell Fusion.

So, then, what happens? (0.00 / 0)
To Sharpe James' warchest?

He's not going to run again (fingers crossed) for anything ...

I agree this $5k transaction is astonishing, but it's a good question: if no one can ethically accept James' funds, and he can't spend them on his own campaigns, what does he do? (Oh, yeah, I guess he could return them and the refundees then support someone else with the funds).

It gets worse. (4.00 / 1)
I think the worse part of it all is that a lot of people in Newark are still very loyal to Sharpe James even though he commited a crime, and something as ridiculous as this can help Bell win the seat.

The fact that all bell says is "more money" in the article already makes him a creep.
