Who won the debate, and what do you have to say?

Biden (0.00 / 0)
However, Palin's better part was the beginning, and I'd guess it might have had more viewers.  She faded badly.

I wish he would have looked at the camera more.  It wasn't the greatest performance ever.  He ended strong.

But it was obvious that Biden could be VP, while I don't think Palin countered the bad image of herself enough.  I can't imagine anyone wanted her to be President after seeing that.

I see on CNN a poll showed a majority still think she is not qualified.

this is the gay rights/gay marriage question (0.00 / 0)
See what you think of it.  Both Andrew Sullivan and Anderson Cooper said she was lying about supporting gay rights. Ifill asked the question in a very strange way.  Of course we already knew that no one on the national ticket supports gay marriage, and that was said again.

No drama (0.00 / 0)
I agree with what David Brooks said in the NYT...in terms of her performance, Palin won by not losing.

Of course, I thought Biden gave the better performance, and better answers, but Palin didn't crash and burn, which I think everyone was expecting.

It was interesting to watch her talk about something she obviously cared about, like education (despite the fact that it wasn't related to an actual question).  She really came alive at that point.  Prior to that, she just looked like the kid who had been cramming for the test.  Whereas Biden pretty much always appeared to be in control and knowledgeable.

Cracked me up (0.00 / 0)
when she mentioned a "team of mavericks"  I could only picture a bunch of folks running away from each other in totally opposite directions.

How many grown folks do you know that actually walk around introducing themselves to folks as "a maverick"?  It's just plain silly.

Reminds me of going to Rutgers in the 80's and getting on the bus with kids who had green and purple hair because it made them look "different".  I used to see at least a few of these folks on every bus.  Hardly a unique look.  The kids were just trying to be different than the other students but we all went to the same classes.

MCCain and Palin are like those kids - except they are trying to desperately make everyone forget that they are de-regulating, oil worshipping, Pray away the Gay, middle class-destroying, library censoring, abuse of power mongering, Republicans who think they can use the same old Six Packs over Substance arguments and election stealing that they got away with for eight years.

We are SO over that.

One Vote.  Yours.  It really does matter.

Sorry, I pulled a Palin - (0.00 / 0)
I didn't answer the first question.  Biden won - no question about it. Joe Biden actually answered the questions, which means - this guy can think on his feet.  He adapts to what is going on around him.  And he can adapt INSTANTLY.  As an expert witness  - I know how critical it is to be able to actually use your brain while speaking in front of a lot of folks.  Biden did this effortlessly.

Palin on the other hand was just like a windup toy with a couple stock phrases.  Or a really shallow newscaster who delivers a story about a tragedy then smiles broadly and says - "John - now back to you!"  We CANNOT afford a vice president who needs 3 weeks vacation to prepare for an hour and a half "ON".  A Vice President MUST be able to be "ON" at any moment.  I get the feeling, if Sarah Palin had got that message in her ear on 9/11, she might have had to spend that crucial 7 minutes just putting on her makeup and practicing her winks in the mirror.

One Vote.  Yours.  It really does matter.
