Thank you Mr. Christie.
As a BCDO County Committee member who may not share your party affiliation, I have to express my extreme gratitude for your hard work.

As someone who:
Grew up in Bergenfield, and was horrified to watch my home town get swallowed up by Pay to Play

Witnessed brazen attempts to make sure my vote DIDN'T count at special elections to elect my state legislators

Was thrown off the BCDO line again and again by Joe Ferriero for having the AUDACITY to vote my conscience

Who stood on the steps at the Hackensack Middle School in 15 degree weather for hours to protest Ferriero's attempt to change the BCDO Bylaws to weaken our vote

Who signed petitions to get a special meeting of the BCDO called only to have Mr. Ferriero ignore our pleas for a fair and open process

Who stood up to nominate Mr. Ferriero's opponent at his re-elections only to witness undemocratic behavior of the worst kind

Who watched the Pay to Play boys outspend us 13 to one with the help of large donations from no-bid contract companies to win a County primary

I want to thank you.  You gave those of us in NJ who love democracy no matter what their party some hope today.  Hope that we can clean up corruption, and that we should always try, because sometimes, sometimes, the good guys actually win in the end.

I know you are a Republican, sir, but as a Democrat from Bergen County, I sincerely want to thank you for helping us take the first steps to take back our party and County Government for the PEOPLE of Bergen County.

We are all appreciative of Mr. Christie today (0.00 / 0)
Thank you, Carolh, for expressing the sentiments of what many other Bergen County Democrats are feeling today.

You get it.

The U.S. Attorney's relentless rooting out of the cancerous corruption fueling these political machines is to be commended.

And let us not forget that while Mr. Christie has provided the leadership, focus and determination to zero in on corruption in NJ, it is the FBI agents and investigators working alongside him who do the day to day grunt work in following leads and turning over all those rocks to see what lies underneath. They are the unsung heroes.

While you are extending gratitude to Mr. Christie, much deserved, let us give three cheers to the investigatory work executed by the career professionals.

It was comforting to hear Mr. Christie make clear that the investigation is ongoing. I am sure there is still much work for the FBI to do in Bergen County.

Ferriero and company had a virtual syndicate of schemes reaching out with the tentacles of an octopus (ala Oury) throughout the region. Nothing went on in these Bergen towns and not a single Democratic appointment was made without Ferriero's direct involvement.

I also think (0.00 / 0)
Warren Monroe deserves special thanks for not only working so hard investigating this, but for putting up with such craziness that a judge in Bergenfield actually had him arrested, because she didn't like the fact that he was doing his job.

Mr. Monroe - you have my undying respect and admiration for your tenacity.  You are truly one of the good guys!

One Vote.  Yours.  It really does matter.

Warren Monroe? (0.00 / 0)
Is that the same Republican Warren Monroe who used to be on the South Brunswick Township Committee and I think was also a Middlesex County Freeholder (he at least ran for that, back when the republicans were winning some years)?
