Tandalayo Scheisskopf :: How Utterly Perfect would THIS be?

If this comes off, the first notes of "No Surrender" are gonna leave that place a pile of smoking rubble.

The Rising (0.00 / 0)
Well, they did use "The Rising" to introduce Biden in Springfield ... and there's no question the Boss backs change we can believe in ... it (a BS+the ESB concert at Invesco field leading up to BHO's acceptance speech) could happen.

And what a media event THAT would be - hell, if Barack Obama's going to get dinged for being a rock star, he might as well embrace the horror and go big. He'll reach a lot of people who don't listen much to politicians but who do listen to Bruce. We're talking historic Neilsen numbers for an acceptance speech.

Regarding the the appropriateness of "The Rising" as a campaign song, which some are wont to debate: I think the song (I just reread the lyrics an hour ago-god if that isn't one of the three best pop songs ever written ... http://www.brucespringsteen.ne... about the transformational, sanctifying power of sacrifice and of rising above mere revenge, and if that's not what we need to hear and feel after 4,100+ American deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq, well ... then there's nothing we need to hear or feel. I say it works. Strong medicine.

Maybe Mike Love will open for John McCain ...

Yes, excellent choice. (0.00 / 0)
And wouldn't choosing that song and playing at the acceptance speech make a lot of frothing little brains, the brains of the Bruce haters at nj.com, explode?

Which, after the cleanup of emulsified brain matter from the walls, would be a vast improvement.

The nom de plume has a long and distinguished history.
