Corruption Watch: Feds seize Oury/Ferriero documents

by: Thurman Hart

Thu Aug 21, 2008 at 04:27:30 PM EDT

The image to the left is one that Joe Ferriero and Dennis Oury will likely have etched in their memories for the rest of their lives.  Published in The Record (credit to Leslie Barbaro), it shows FBI agents taking reams of documents into their possession.  Michael Gartland and Peter Sampson write:
A half-dozen agents, all in suits, were still at Ferriero's law offices at the firm of Scarinci Hollenbeck early this afternoon and had loaded at least eight boxes of documents into unmarked cars with non-government plates. No police officers were at the site.

Lawrence H. Kraft, executive director of Scarinci Hollenbeck, also confirmed in a written statement that a warrant had been executed at the firm's headquarters.

He emphasized that the warrant called for a search of "the private office of Joseph Ferriero for records relating to Mr. Ferriero as an individual and not related to his position at Scarinci Hollenbeck."

That, my friends, is the sound of Joe Ferriero being thrown under the bus.  If Scarinci and Hollenbeck is moving to protect its reputation and putting Boss Joe out with a big target on him...yeah.  It's a matter of time.

...and this law firm is one of them.

If Chris Christie ever decides to go "RICO" on the whole tangled web he would be well advised to look into just about every case they "do" that's related to any kind of government official or interest.

If Ferierro is indeed being "thrown under the bus" I would allow him to get off scott free if he squealed like a stuck pig on the whole machine...above and below his level.

This is likely just atmospheric window dressing for an election year; but if it does actually lead to charges and to some kind of conviction or plea (especially if it's petty bullshit) from just one or two individuals.....you can rest assures that it's just "damage control/limitation".

Here's some thematically relevant video to ponder...

WOW (0.00 / 0)
How did I miss this story today?  Guess my mind is still elsewhere this week.  Thanks for staying on top of this one, Thurman.  Now will some of those elected apologists for Ferriero show a little distance and a lot more sense?  And you know who you are......

One Vote.  Yours.  It really does matter.
