Utterly Ridiculous

"Utterly Ridiculous"
I couldn't have said it better myself.   That was the response of the Adler campaign to a pathetic attack by the Chris Myers campaign on the netroots and "liberal bloggers".  At issue is this video from about a month ago where Adler praised the efforts of bloggers saying this:
"They are the new journalists, they are the new citizen soldiers in terms of activism, in terms of the spreading of information, the sharing of ideas... They're such fantastic people, they're good caring Democrats that really want to move our country forward," Adler explains on the video.
The Myers campaign sent out a press release attacking Adler saying he offended troops, veterans and just about anyone else breathing by praising the netroots.  Apparently they think our soldiers and veterans will confuse his support for us with a lack of support for them, not like Myers would ever give Adler credit for supporting the troops in the first place.   Nonetheless, they went on with the attack saying this:
Chris Russell, campaign manager for Myers, said the video shows Adler is out
of touch with the people of the 3rd District
I'm sorry, which candidate is out of touch with the district?  It wasn't John Adler who said that the "economy is basically strong", it was Chris Myers.  May I note here that the President, whose policies Chris Myers embraces, has now admitted (in private) that the economy had a little to much to drink and is suffering from a hangover.  It wasn't John Adler who said we don't have to win in Iraq, just make it look that way, it was Chris Myers.  The only thing that's utterly ridiculous is the Chris Myers for Congress Campaign.   Who's out of touch?  If you feel so inclined, you can help get Adler's back because he seems to have ours.

Not just liberal (4.00 / 3)
Radical liberal bloggers is what we are according to Myers. When all else fails (and boy is it failing in NJ-3) - republicans always seem to want to scream "liberal."

I guess once you realize you're not running a serious campaign, you have to settle for making it look like you are.

Liberals! (0.00 / 0)
The funny thing is, republicans tried this in special elections in much more conservative districts (and in places like Louisiana and Mississippi), and it still didn't work.

I have to wonder, is the Myers camp even trying?

    Myers, the martyr (4.00 / 1)
The martyrdom of Chris Myers has been a performance... to forget. Last week, the martyr made his way to Mt. Laurel -- heaven forbid, he actually hold a townhall there or anywhere in the 3rd and talk to voters -- to hold a counter press conference against Corzine's affordable housing bill signing. He offered nothing by way of a counterproposal to fix affordable housing -- but are you really surprised?

Now, the martyr has been offended because of a reference to the military. Did you also know that Myers was in the military? Myers sure wants to remind you of that, even if he has not a single policy position. So the martyr, when Russell and Layton let him come out to play, makes  a mountain out a molehill with a "citizen soldier" reference. Doesn't have anything to do with distracting from your godawful fundraising numbers or your continued media missplays ("basically strong economy"), does it, Mayor Myers?

Ugh, Teh Stupid. It hurts. (4.00 / 1)
My irony meter must have burned out; I can't really handle this much stupid anymore.
