Blue Jersey Radio Celebration - Tonight at 8:30!

by: Jeff Gardner

Thu Jun 19, 2008 at 03:00:00 PM EDT

Each week, Blue Jersey Radio streams LIVE with New Jersey's latest political buzz, interviews with newsmakers, and your stimulating calls.

This week: We're celebrating and thanking everybody who voted in the DFA Netroots Nation Scholarship Contest! The winners were announced today, and thanks to all your votes, I landed in superschweet 1st Place, and that means a trip to Austin, TX for this year's third annual Netroots Nation convention. Now, what exactly is a New Jersey boy to do in Texas in July?

Call tonight and give me some ideas.

Plus - joining the show tonight, as he has so ably in the past, is that other South Jersey man of mystery, the blogger formerly known as NJDem: Jason Springer, bringing with him insight, wit and his much-needed research. And Jay fans, fear not: he's calling in too!

So, tune in tonight at 8:30 p.m. for the fastest half-hour in New Jersey politics.

We're LIVE from 8:30p-9:00p, and would love to hear from you. Call: 646-652-2773

Talk to you then!

Seriously (4.00 / 4)
Thanks to everybody who took the time to give their support. I love seeing New Jersey finish in first.
Plus - Austin is going to completely rock!!
:-)

I am sure Tex will be along shortly... (0.00 / 0)
To tell you all the wonderful things to do in the coolest town in Texas. One thing I would suggest is gettin' you some Texas BBQ(Brisket) and some goooood TexMex food while you are there.

The night life there is also justifiably legendary. Just make sure you take your favorite headache nostrum with you, as things can get rather...errm..."festive". Ahem. ;-)

The nom de plume has a long and distinguished history.

Jeff is being a bit humble.  He finished with 207 supporters.  2nd place?

Congratulations Jeff!  I recommend having as much air-conditioned fun as possible.

You may want to rent the Richard Linklater movie, Slacker, before you leave.  The movie itself isn't that good, but it takes you all over Austin and might give you some good ideas.

And while you are there, please pass along my wish to our lefty friends that they try to refrain from saying anything bad about Israel between now and Election Day.

They need to know that any and all anti-Israel statements will stick to Barack Obama like Crazy Glue and make it that much harder for him to get the 75% of the Jewish vote that he is going to need to win some key battleground states (Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and yes, even New Jersey).

Just let them know that they can be as antiwar as they want to be.  It doesn't mean that they need to be anti-Israel as well.  The two are not mutually inclusive.

Thanks for the "Slacker" tip (0.00 / 0)
Sounds like the perfect rental.

warning (0.00 / 0)
The (pre-Dazed and Confused) movie is approximately 15 years old and it is possible that a lot of the places don't exist anymore.

When I went to LA recently, I wanted to go to the bowling alley where The Big Lebowski was shot and was disappointed to find that it was no longer there.  In its place was a school.

F'n liberals and their f'n schools.  Oh well.  The dude abides.  I was able to get to an In and Out Burger at the very least.

Has anybody else even eaten at an In and Out Burger?  The food is great, but there are biblical passages on the wrappers.  It is a little freaky to see.
