( - promoted by Jay Lassiter)

The Senator-elect was a delightful guest. Plus - Jay makes a big holy roman announcement. Have a listen! - noweeman

Senator Teresa Ruiz
Senator-elect Ruiz
Ruiz, Lassiter and Gardner.

A high-powered lawfirm? Actually, no - it's the theme of this week's edition of Blue Jersey Radio! LIVE tomorrow (Saturday) from 10:30-11a!
Call in: (646) 652-2773

Senator-elect Ruiz (D-Newark) represents a trend in Trenton: young, smart, diverse and -- notably this year -- female.

Lame duck is almost over and come January, there's gonna be a lot of new faces, including Ruiz, who replaces Sharpe James as Newark's newest non-prurient voice in the Legislature.

But remember, even with special guests like the lady Senator-elect, we are NOTHING without your phone calls.
That # again: (646) 652-2773.

I just thought I had to say it.

Much good fortune in your new position, Sen. Ruiz.

The nom de plume has a long and distinguished history.

Dear Senator Elect Ruiz, (4.00 / 1)
Please stay true to your grass roots values.

Please do not be intimidated by "the old boys network".

Please do not be intimidated (or legally bribed) by all the lobbyists and rich special interests who will be wining and dining you and offering you all manner of "contributions".  You must know, and never forget, that there are strings attached to all of it. If you weren't in the senate those same people wouldn't give you a second thought.....so please, try to resist the temptation to become "full of your self".

Please serve as an agent for real root to branch change in the NJ Senate; don't "settle" so much

Please have the guts to fight and fight aggressively for basic common human decency and do not be afraid of being called nasty names by the those who will be opposed to basic common human human decency.  In fact, if you get them that pissed off, it's a sign that you're doing well!!!

Don't worry if you are "in the minority" initially; your positions, when righteous, will earn you the support of your constituents and of the good people of the whole state.  That's who you're accountable to; not the "leadership".

And if/when you are forced to compromise for the sake of making political "sausage" (which obviously will happen); please let your constituents know what you would have liked to have voted for, and why you believe the compromise was the best they/we could get.  Sunshine is good.

I am confident that, if you are Graced with the strength to be able to act in accordance with your own highest Conscience, and you humbly accept that Gift; that you will win re-election even if you get ZERO money from the creatures of the status quo!

The people of Newark won't need to be brainwashed by millions of dollars worth of slick advertising to know that they have an honest humane being representing them and they will come out in vast numbers for you on the next election day.  So again....please, don't ever get sucked into the trap of showing and deference to what has become "business as usual" in Trenton.

My prayers and good wishes are with you!!!

Thank You!
