Just Wondering

Back in 2003 Republican Congressmen Scott Garrett, Mike Ferguson and Chris Smith couldn't resist inserting themselves into the debate over embryonic stem cell research funded by the State of New Jersey.  Even thought he three are not reps in the state government, they felt comfortable intruding because they are "pro-life."

So where are these "pro-life" Congresscritters when it comes time to end the New Jersey Death Penalty?

the typical lame response that.... (0.00 / 0)
...I receive from righty wingnutters is that death-row prisoners are evil guilty people, but embryos are "innocent and defenseless".  So the bottom line is that people like Ferguson/Ernie/Smith claim to treasure human life, but they sort of pick and choose which humans (or potential humans) to treasure.  Oh, and once a child is born into poverty, it's on its own.  And I guess Iraqi civilians don't count.

Death Penalty is Playing God (0.00 / 0)
Deciding who deserves to live and die, for many people, is the purview of God and not humans.

These folks want to play God: fetuses live, people we think (not know, but think) are bad die.
