Blue Jersey Radio: Seema Singh edition

by: Jeff Gardner

Fri Oct 26, 2007 at 01:45:41 AM EDT

(LIVE RADIO WITH YOU CALLS!!! 10:30am! - promoted by Jay Lassiter)

BJR ButtonEvery Saturday morning at 10:30, Blue Jersey Radio streams LIVE with Trenton's latest buzz, interviews with newsmakers, and your stimulating calls.

This week: In addition to debuting our swanky new BJ Radio Logo, we were joined by 14th District Senate Candidate Seema Singh, as she heads into the campaign home stretch.

Jay adds: She really is a razor sharp candidate and her passion was obvious. While you're listening, make sure to check out Seema's website which highlights just how un-moderate Bill Baroni can be. (Note to Baroni: there is a lot more to being moderate than not hating on gays, IMHO.)

Could that be why he didn't accept our challenge?

BlogTalkRadio

Now, if you're scratching your head about that last question, you must not have listened to last week's show. But, good news - there's still time.

And when you're finished, you can surf through ALL our shows on our BlogTalkRadio page. Or download them all here:

(But, more importantly, does this logo make me look fat?)

Does This Logo Make Me Look Fat? (4.00 / 1)
Not at all. Handsome as ever. Keep up the great work! New York is listening too!

    Stop. Don't. No.

    why not... (0.00 / 0)
...invite Charles Wowkanech of the AFL-CIO or Jeff Tittel of the Sierra Club on your show and ask them why their organizations are supporting Baroni?

If Baroni doesn't have the guts to come on your show and answer your questions, maybe they will.

That said, not hating on gays is a pretty good start, dontcha think?  How many other Trenton Republicans are as good as Baroni on LGBT issues?

    Baroni on gays (0.00 / 0)
the reason i brought up GLBT stuf with regards to Baroni's race is because of the anti-gay hate group that's running hundreds of thousands of dollars of ads in the 14th leading up to election day.

So Baroni poo poo'd the ads. Great.  not only does this rightwing goofball from outside NJ come in and spew his hate for our consumption, but the actions undermine the fair and clean elections program that are going on.

so while i could have brought up stem cells or Iraq (Two areas where Baroni and Seema Singh differ radically) to highlight how radical Baroni's policy goals are, it seems approprioate  to raise gay rights since that is what's specifically being threatened by Baroni's limp response to the anti-gay rancor playing out in his district AS WE SPEAK.

    what is GSE's opinion? (0.00 / 0)
Have they rescinded their endorsement of Baroni?

Baroni is opposed to stem cell research?  Why is this the first that I have heard of this?  I would have thought that this would have come up, here of all places, much sooner.

Only time will tell, but my guess is that Linda Greenstein will benefit more from the extra 100K than she will be damaged by the 150K that was spent to attack her.

    Phony Baroni or the 2nd comming? (4.00 / 1)
If anyone thinks Baloni, who has delusions of running for statewide political office as a Republican and winning a Republican primary, is going to VOTE for marriage equality, they are on crack.  Baloni, a serial panderer, will most likely do the same thing he did when the Assembly Iraq War Resolution went up for a vote, HIDE under his desk. If anyone thinks Bill's so supportive of gay rights, they need to get him to cosponsor the marriage equality bill -- see where that gets them.  Fact remains, Baloni is pro Iraq War, anti-choice, and anti-stem cell research (even for a person with a college degree).  Seema deserves our support and would make a much better and honest Senator than phony baroni.

    and another thing... (4.00 / 1)
So are we to give Bill a pass when he abstains on a marriage equality vote?  "ohh, he's a Republican, at least he didn't vote against it!"  Those who expect politicians to actually have a SPINE when they go to Trenton, should not be snookered by someone who says, "sorry, I couldn't vote for it, because it would ruin my chances for higher office within my party." This is an elephant we should not run to the polls to cross party lines for.

AMEN! (but probably too little, too late) n/t (4.00 / 1)
