Name that candidate. (4.00 / 2)
This candidate was: deemed by the Bush-Cheney campaign as the most formidable Dem opponent in 2004, has been called Karl Rove's worst nightmare, can flip red states (Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina) blue, has such a strong top-ticket draw that lower-ticket local Dems would get coat-tails, presents the most concrete platform on global warming and universal health care of any Dem candidate, is right there with union workers on picket lines, comes from a modest background that most of us can relate to, and, most important, would certainly win in 2008.

Edwards

That was a good pitch, Martin.

I heard that his tears can cure cancer, too... (4.00 / 2)
Oh wait, that's Chuck Norris.

Where's Al? (0.00 / 0)
Once again you've left Al Gore, still the most compelling (albeit un-declared) candidate for the Democratic Party nomination for President in 2008, off the poll.

Thing is, there is a move afoot to place him on the Primary ballot with a full slate of delegate candidates. FWIW, I am one of the potential Gore delegates at next year's convention, as one of 4 from the 14th Delegate District (comprising the 27th and 28th Legislative Districts). I am also a member of the Essex County Democratic Committee (Maplewood District 3).

Al Gore MUST be represented as a viable choice.  Also Walter Mondale.  No one can beat Walter Mondale.

Or my left nut.

Straw Poll...A Farce! (0.00 / 0)
Any poll that does not include the most qualified Democrat to run for President in the last quarter century - a man with unquestioned experience, with a world reputation that rivals any of the current front runners, a man who served in Vietnam, and someone who has demonstrated a clear ability to involve younger voters - any such poll is not worth a pile of hay.

Include the rightful President of the United States of America in your poll and see how the numbers will change.

If you don't know who I am speaking about, you are not a true blue Democrat.

It's Albert Gore Jr., stupid!

Down with King George!

For Gore (0.00 / 0)
I agree witht hose supporting Mr. Gore which is why i signed on to be an uncommitted delegate in his corner and voted Other in your poll.
Mr. Gore has the experience (Senator and VP), foresight (Global waming, Internet) competence (environmental organizer etc) and intellect and principle (he did not bring a constitutional crisis on us when Bush stole the election) to be the best president we've had in a long time.

Did you miss the first one? (0.00 / 0)
