So, Blue Jersey, what should we ask Jim?

The 5th (0.00 / 0)
How does the seemingly hopeless (but changing) 5th Congressional District fit in with DFA plans?

Good question Smarty (0.00 / 0)
It may be early yet for 2008 races (what with NJ's entire legislature up for election this year, along with many local races). But, I'll definitely ask. Thanks for the question.

I love that question Smarty (0.00 / 0)
Here's what I know about the 5th, just north of my perch in the rock-conservative part of the neighboring 7th:

You guys up there are primed and ready. I think that the level of passion we saw in '06 (both great and uh... sometimes uhhh.... ugly) is the purest evidence of a good sign.

It means the District is restless and ready for change, ready to show up and make it happen. No matter what cycle the success comes in, I think the success will come.

That's just my 2 cents. I'm not my Chairman, Jim Dean, but I'm the state Co-Chair (Radio Jeff is the other one) and I do like to see Democratic passion rise in places it's not expected.

There's a lot of feisty people up in the broccoli, and I don't think some of our CD-5 readers/writers plan to sleep through either the Primary or the General.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

Question for Dean (0.00 / 0)
What are some of the most successful grassroots organizing tactics you've seen employed around the country, and how can we duplicate them here in New Jersey?

What was Howard Dean like as a kid? (0.00 / 0)

Great Interview (0.00 / 0)
So we've got DJ Jeff and Rev Jay on Saturday mornings.  You guys really do a great job with your guests and the stories.  It's also great to have DFA Chair Dean so aware of the work we are doing and the landscape here in Jersey.  Thanks!

Thank you for listening, and for those very nice words.

Toolbox (4.00 / 1)
I just want to comment on something Jay said yesterday that struck me so right.

As you now know, Jay's other credentials this month are as a minister now able to unite couples in Civil Unions. Discussing that on yesterday's show, Jay said:

It's just another tool in the equality toolbox...

That description, and the idea of an equality toolbox, is just so good. And reminds me why I love Blue Jersey Radio.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.
