- Gov. Corzine says he will most likely sign a ban on dual office-holding even though it grandfathers current legislators who do so.
- Ethics charges against seven Republican legislators have been dropped due to the statute of limitations. Sens. Joseph Kyrillos, Peter Inverso, Robert Singer and Leonard Connors, and Assemblymen Richard Merkt, David Wolfe, and Kevin O'Toole were alleged to have secured state monies for groups to which they or close family members had ties.
- Stuart Rabner has now been officially nominated for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and Anne Milgram has been named his successor as Attorney General. Both parties are praising Rabner as "thorough and fair."
- Immigration arrests have more than doubled in the last two years, a trend that is both praised and criticized- and will most likely continue.
- The Ft. Monmouth re-use plan probably won't be ready by the December deadline, fears the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Planning Authority, the organization dedicated to redevelopment at the base, which is set to close fully by 2011.
- Camden is dearly in need of revitalization and city fixture Campbell's is in a position to provide it- if their wants are met. The NY Times has the story.
- Many folks who had flood insurance are still waiting for their settlements from April's storms and are voicing anger at the National Flood Insurance Program, who says they're still in their 60-day payment window.
