2008 presidential strawpoll above.

Edwards seems to consistently get around 40%, and Obama around 20%. Internet polls, of course, are subject to manipulation, so don't take it too seriously.

Does it matter (0.00 / 0)

to the vote tallies which candidate's name is put first?

Seems to matter in the 37th. (I don't vote there.)

It does count... funny that Edwards is #1 and first (0.00 / 0)

Oh (0.00 / 0)

I was just Saturday snarking around. I would have voted for Edwards, whether he was first or last. I would hope that the Blue Jerseyans who voted would have done the same, no matter where their fav was positioned.

This is going to be a long, You Tube enhanced, primary campaaign.

I really don't care about Edwards' hair, Hillary's hair or Obama's hair (OK, ears, /snark, again).

Right now, I care about the candidate's position on the issues, as I assume all here would. Right now, I'm not finding much.

* Setting myself up here....*

What I really care about is my hair which, despite all my attention, looks like crap when I go for job interviews.

PS: I've been using WYSIWYG tools when I post. They don't show up. Now I'm going to preview, which may result in my comment being a SHOUT. I'm not shouting, I just don't know what I'm doing.

Edit: None of my bold worked. That's probably for a techie side thread for us IT idiots.

I'm glad Edwards won the Straw Poll (0.00 / 0)

I've consistently said, if we nominate Edwards and run an Edwards/Obama ticket the 2008 Presidential Election becomes ours to lose.

If we nominate Hillary, we are in real trouble in many of the states like Ohio and Virginia and Iowa that we need to win to take the White House back

Finally, its noteworthy that Edwards message on fighting poverty, fighting global warming, restoring the middle class against Corporate power and restoring America's moral image in the world has broad support not only among progressives but among moderates as well

well then (0.00 / 0)
well you just listed most of the candidates - whos left to win?

It's still early (0.00 / 0)

Gore/Richardson is a winner ... if "they" want to do it!!

Edwards is my candidate no matter where he is on the "list" (0.00 / 0)

After the 2004 debacle, he didn't slink away or go on the rubber chicken circut to earn large fees. He set up a poverty foundation and e-mail newsletter, which I received regularly. It was very effective in encouraging advocacy for issue around poverty, affordable housing etc. Maybe he was setting himself up for the Presidential campaign but he was also doing some really good things.

He seems to be the only one not bobbing and weaving to "sound" right and play to the crowd. And his campaign staff seems to be right on target. I get calls every so often (of course for money) but I also ask questions and I get the feeling they are not just "hired hands" they really believe in the candidate. I asked for a bumper sticker and actually got one in a couple of days. I asked about volunteer opportunties and got a call within 3 days. Pretty good follow-up for a national campaign.
