(Vote - promoted by JRB)

You know what to do. Voting below the fold.

Last month's results are here, along with February's results. As he has not come forward with his intentions, Wes Clark is no longer included in this poll.

Though I reserve the right to back pedla like crazy (0.00 / 0)
should Gore get in.

snarkola:

I would love to see Gore get in, then trounce the heck out of the whole field, so I think all the DEMs should stay in the race. Including Richardson.....
>3 stooges poke in the eye<

Just so later they can bow to the power and omnipotent authority of President Gore.

Check out my 3 paragraph primer on Polywell Fusion.

Gore (4.00 / 1)
Just keep saying those words: "President Gore." It makes me happy, even if I know I'm only dreaming.

I think every candidate but mine (Richardson) should withdraw. (4.00 / 3)
If they were all true progressives, then they'd drop out of the race right now.

/snark

In all seriousness, the next president will have to clean up a lot of the messes Bush left behind and Richardson can do that.  Then there's also energy policy, and while he's not Al Gore on energy, he may well be stronger than everyone else.

Richardson is making news with drugs (4.00 / 1)

Current Playlist: Obama, Clinton, Edwards (0.00 / 0)
I used to be for Clark, but am now voting for Obama.

Richardson and HPV (3.00 / 1)
Richardson vetoed the bill to require the vaccine.  The reason was the lack of time to educate parents about the pros and cons to make the choice to get it or opt out.  The funding is still there for people who want the vaccine voluntarily.  This added to the availability of the university clinics by the uninsured.  I am undecded but would vote for Richardson if the election were held today, primarily because he has the best understanding of how to deal with foreign policy, especially with areas other than Europe.  He will be the best of helping to make Mexico more stable.  Thom Hartman said today that Mexico is in a great economic crisis.

Libertarian (0.00 / 0)
I don't understand what the problem is, or how much more education there needs to be. The HPV vaccine will prevent cervical cancer. It's fairly simple.

Now, I'd be surprised if Richardson was doing this for political reasons, considering he's going forward with medical pot, which will raise a lot of eyebrows (mine included).

Or maybe he's going for the Libertarian vote.

Government Required Vaccines (0.00 / 0)
The government requires childhood vaccines for communicable diseases that can lead to outbreaks, and generally few others.  The idea is to create something called "herd immunity" which means that with enough people vaccinated even if the disease is present it can't reach the tipping point of creating an epidemic.

HPV is not a disease that can readily spread to epidemic portions, or even really have an outbreak.  It is almost universally spread through sexual intercourse, and is not communicable through spit, air, sweat, or etc.

While I fully intend to have kids vaccinated for HPV when they are of age, I would not want that decision forced on me or my daughters.  My family's health care as it relates to my family is none of the government's business, any more than whether I have a vasectomy or my wife has an abortion or I have a mole removed.
