(Great idea. - promoted by jmelli)

Hey Blue Jersey,

I'm looking for a core team of great bloggers from Northern New Jersey or frankly, from anywhere to help Sidd Finch and I build up Retire Garrett. Ernie Scott Garrett is a terrible congressman and we need to get rid of him in 2008. I'm looking for bloggers who would like to join us in revealing the scandalous record of this embodiment of the radical Right. If you're interested, comment below!

fantastic idea.... (4.00 / 3)
...and we have just shy of 2 years to make it work.  fact is, i need to do the same thing down here in nj-3.  i think about it all the time.

in an ideal world, we could get a cadre of bloggers in all the hostile districts come together and (with dumpmike as a template) blog the GOP out of NJ's delegation.  every last one of them.

you have garrett which clearly you're not happy with.  i know how you feel.  my voice in congress leaves a lot to be desired too.  and since we have an excellant model over at www.dumpmike.com.

But don't forget ... (0.00 / 0)
... to keep the rest of us in the loop.

Best of luck, that sounds great!

Think about the impact (0.00 / 0)
... you can have on the District by 2008. Bravo. Go get 'em.

Or should I say: Go get him!

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

I'm in (0.00 / 0)
I have lots of ideas and was planning on doing a posting here soon.

Sidd and I have traded emails on this, and I want to do something along the lines of the "dumpmike" for starters.

my email should be in my profile.  PLEASE reach out to me.

Scott Garrett - on the wrong side of, well, everything.

Having done oppo on Garrett somewhat professionally... (4.00 / 2)
I believe I can say with some assuredness that getting good stuff on him is tough. Really tough. Rep. Da'Wrench may be a clown and useless as mammalian protruberences on the male of the genus sus, he generates very little in the way of jaw-dropping quality of outrage. Part of the reason is that while he does little to nothing for the district, that is pretty much what the people out here have come to expect from their congresscritters. Low expectations and all that. That said, there ain't a lot of dirt to be had on him. Hell, he proudly boasts that he will not meet with lobbiests, and he doesn't, apparently.

It's gonna take a real effort, out here, to educate the voters that things do not have to be this way, that we can and should have a congressional representative that isn't a waste of skin and gravity.

And that educational effort needs to take place in Sussex and Warren as well. I do believe that the last election offered up, in the starkest of terms, the evidence that anyone who runs for congress in the 5th needs to get votes out here in the broccoli. Bergen alone will not cut the mustard.

The nom de plume has a long and distinguished history.

I would love to help (0.00 / 0)
and being an Essex County resident I would love to retire some of our do nothing Democrats.
