People Power in Action

We're calling all of the netroots here in New Jersey today to join with us here at Retire Garrett to begin a new people-powered campaign for change. In the 5th District, we're going to try something new, having netroots, from here in the District, from all around New Jersey, and from around the country, to have a leading role in changing our district and electing a Democrat to office in 2008.

We're going to have a larger role in shaping the debate, in researching the extremist record of Scott Garrett, of communicating a message to the press, in holding our nominee's feet to the fire, in raising money, in reaching out to the voters, and in shaping our ideas for the future. Please join with me in this new effort, which we'll launch after Thanksgiving. We can't do it without you, and you'll all be an integral part of it. Please give me your suggestions, your thoughts, and get ready for 2008!

As difficult as it is so soon after the election, the only way Garrett is going to be booted is if we keep the pedal to the metal. We need to find a way to expose him to the people of the 5th. (Not literally. That would be disgusting.) We need to lay the groundwork for his '08 challenger- whomever that is.

Whomever? (0.00 / 0)
Is that right?

On The Hon. Ernie Da' Wrench(R-Mouthfroth) would go far towards giving a leg up to any candidate that runs against him in the next race.

One criticism I had of the last race was that too many opportunities to hoist him on his own petard were allowed to pass or were ignored. The only way to go after an entrenched incumbent is to go after him or her. I think we learned this time that you cannot do the political equivalent of Brazilian JuJitsu with your pinky extended.

Also, real and substantive assistance from all the usual political places would be a big help. I know it's nice to keep guys like Ernie around, for the contrast, but it doesn't help the 5th a bit. Even less now that the House is run by the Dems. Ernie is gonna be lucky to get an office at all, much less one in a broomcloset off the parking garage. He's gonna stand out like a deformed and unopposable thumb.

Wow. Two more years of Ernie. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

The nom de plume has a long and distinguished history.

I can do some research (w/help) and write good copy.  Oh, and I have an opinion on everything!
