Fighting Scare Tactics - With Video

by: Robert Stern For Englewood

**Skip Right To The Video**

It's been a busy month since my last update!  We've hit the ground running.  I've been going door-to-door throughout the city, and the reception has been exceptional in all four wards. The people of Englewood are ready for a change. Business as usual just isn't going to cut it anymore.

The residents of Englewood are tired of Big Money having its way with our city. We're tired of developers gone wild. We're tired of politicians, like our Mayor Michael Wildes, welcoming overdevelopment with open arms. Most of all, we're tired of political scare tactics.

Last Saturday, an anonymous flyer was sent out to black neighborhoods throughout Englewood, labeling me and Assemblyman Gordon Johnson "sharks" and claiming we want to "eliminate affordable housing."  These lies were clearly intended to scare voters.  Even worse, the shady characters behind these flyers paid children to hand out these attack pieces and told the children not to say where they got the flyers from!

Well, at the following city council meeting, one mother stood up and spoke out.  Watch a Video of an Englewood mother telling Mayor Michael Wildes that she's tired of these SCARE TACTICS.

In another bizarre twist, a letter-to-the-editor appeared in our local paper from a man named Robert Jacobs.  The writer claims that if I win, he will sell his house and leave Englewood.  Well, it makes sense.  According to OpenSecrets.org, a Robert Jacobs from Englewood gave $500 to Tom Delay's Legal Defense.  Go figure!

On a positive note, Bergen Grassroots endorsed me, along with Bob Menedez and Steve Rothman.  As a grassroots candidate, I am proud to have the support of this hardworking and progressive organization.  For more information about this endorsement, go to the Bergen Grassroots website.

I'd like to thank BlueJersey.net for fighting the good fight.  To find out more about my campaign, visit www.SternForMayor.com.  Thanks and keep up the good work!

If These Tactics Are Not Ilegal; They Should Be! And if they are... (0.00 / 0)
the perps should be prosecuted!

Is it legal to hire little children to distribute flyers for cash?

What if one of these kids took the "job" seriously and sufferd some injury as they worked (all manner of possible scenarios come to mind)?

Thirty five bucks in cash is a lot of money to an underpriviledged child; do we really want children to feel obligated in any way to anonymous adults giving them cash?

Is it legal to shell out cash for the distribution of anonymous campaign literature which also happens to be proulgating lies?

Anyone out there a lawyer??????  A prosecutor??????
