NJ-07: First Sock-Puppetry From Kean Jr., Now Sign Stealing from Ferguson

Obviously, Mike Ferguson (R-NJ7) is really scared of our campaign.  We saw this Ferguson volunteer putting up signs outside the Linda Stender for Congress office today.  In a little bit of fun we went out and bracketed his signs with Linda's.

Though we never touched his, the Ferguson staffer came back and stole the Stender signs!  Right out of the ground.

And we've got video.  With a license plate.
By the way, if you want to help us buy more signs you can help out online!

Finally, someone gets caught.

seriously, if they are going to be that dumb and try to jack our signs this early they're probably running scared. nice job though kids catching them on video.

Typical GOP (0.00 / 0)
Standard operating proceedure. We already knew Ferguson was dumb as a post. Now this blatant theft makes his campaign workers criminals, maybe petty criminals, but criminals none the less. This is further proof that the fish rots from the head down. Maybe this could be a cover up for his instant messages to pages or Abramoff or DeLay or Zell Miller (remember that nut?) or Foley or Cheney or Rove or Bush or.......

Restore democracy and the Constitution for which it stands.

Its sign-stealing season again (0.00 / 0)
October always seems to stir people up to steal the signs of their opposition.  It must be in the fall air.  Before I was told by a grizzled old pol that "lawn signs (or window signs if you are from Hudson County) don't vote," I used to engage in sign-related hijinks.

On my second political campaign many years ago, a friend and I were driving around town on Election Eve, removing GOP campaign signs and then putting up signs for our ticket on telephone poles in front of Republican committee members' homes.  Of course, being athletic and young, we scaled many telephone poles to post our signs 15 feet in the air.  Our opponents spent Election Day not working on GOTV efforts, but on removing our signs.

Around 2 a.m., we were removing signs for a GOP Congressional candidate from a telephone pole.  Suddenly, a taxi pulled up.  Out walked the GOP Congressional candidate whose signs we were tearing down.  He looked at us, slightly stunned, and said "hey, those signs are for me!"  We happened to be removing signs in front of the guy's house!

We threw the signs into the back of my station wagon and sped off into the dark November night.  The candidate was trounced at the polls the next day.

Route 22 (0.00 / 0)
Ferg's wingnutter henchmen usually saturate the Mountainside/Westfield stretch of Route 22 with Ferg signs.  If you ever bike or walk between Echo Lake Park and Watchung Reservation, stop and whack a few if they are on PUBLIC (town/county/state) property. It's fun! Don't litter - toss 'em into a nearby dumpster.
