BlueJersey turned six the other day and that got me a little nostalgic. Next thing I knew, I'm digging through the archives -- nearly 20,000 diaries --and finding some real BlueJersey gems dating back to 2005. Some of the stuff even seemed worth sharing (or re-sharing, in this case.) So follow me below the fold to relive some nuggets from this date, October 3rd, in years past. |
| Jay Lassiter :: On this Day in Blue Jersey History |
| Way back in 2005, then-Assemblywoman Loretta Weinberg gives the Blogosphere its first folk heroine while the folks at Zogby warned Congressional Republicans that their House and Senate majorities may be at risk.2006 was a (Congressional) election year and five years ago today then-US Senate Candidate Tom Kean Jr backed out of a debate with Bob Menendez while a GOP Congressional (gay) sex scandal seeps into the Garden State. On this day day in 2007, 1) New Jersey residents were increasingly worried about access to healthcare and 2) more proof that wealthy Republicans are lucky and not talented.Back in 2008, we reported the vote headcount of the Jersey Congressional delegation for then-President Bush's Wall Street bailout. The vote passed the House, but NJ's Steve Rothman was an emphatic "hell no!"Just two years ago, in 2009, Hurricane Christie was about to make landfall in Trenton. And finally there were no diaries published on this day last year, in 2010. The BlueJersey community was largely mourning the tragic suicide of Rutgers student Tyler Clementi (RIP.) |
