Watch video. Bang head on wall.

Frank Luntz: Chris Christie is "basically a blue-collar Republican". That might be news to some blue-collar New Jerseyans I know. Luntz, via Crooks & Liars:

A "blue collar Republican"....what is that? (0.00 / 0)
is that someone who doesn't want to tax the super rich? is that someone  who takes helicopter rides to his kid's baseball games?  What is a "blue collar Republican"? Does anyone know? Would love to get Frank Luntz' definition

Hm (0.00 / 0)
Wondering if this characterization really has more to do with Christie affecting a "Jersey Guy" persona. Is this just the way Frank Lutz sees anyone with a Jersey accent, northern or southern?

I think (4.00 / 1)
Frank Luntz is smarter than that. I think it's his deliberate way to recast a weakness (sucking up to the rich eventually pisses off voters) into a strength (even if it's a lie) simply by calling it something else and repeating it often enough until it latches on.

Beware, media.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

Yes, exactly (0.00 / 0)
Nothing but propaganda.  Plus, fair or not, his girth gives him a bit of "blue collar" cache.

Luntz never met a lie he wouldn't tell. And keep repeating.

There's a lot of Blue Collar Rs who don't (0.00 / 0)
hate women's rights. So it's a bit unfair.

Compared to What? (0.00 / 0)
Maybe compared to the rest of the GOP crowd he has the  bluest collar. That collar is still sent out to be pressed and ironed before wearing.

This moniker is kind of like getting the congeniality award on a pirate ship.

Christie is about as likely (0.00 / 0)
To become a blue-collar worker as a one-legged man has of winning a butt-kicking contest.

I'm also not ruling out the distinct possibility that he would be the target of a butt-kicking contest by his new union colleagues, should he magically become a blue-collar worker.
