LoBiondo's Swift Action to Avoid Debt Ceiling Crisis

Not really "swift"......but here's an update on this past Friday's rejected "letter to the editor" over at Press of AC, criticizing LoBi in my round about fashion. Is this version also suitable for the cutting room floor, or is it printable? Why am I asking here, there's only 10 people logged in and I'm not Blue Jersey front page material. Who'll ever see? Just kidding Blue Jersey, this is an excellent place to go "on the record" :)

Tuesday fast approaches. It's the last Friday morning before the debt ceiling deadline. It follows another late night session of Congress and no agreement! Wall Street opens in less than an hour. A thorough search of the internet, including our Congressman's web site, press releases, Press of AC articles, TV appearances, hoping I might find the 9 term Congressman guiding somebody, anybody down there in D.C., especially the Tea Party freshman finds only this on his facebook page.....a 70 word one paragraph statement that starts out like this, "The nation cannot be allowed to default" and ends this way, "Raising taxes is no solution to reining in our debt or creating jobs." Hallelujah, Congressman LoBiondo frames the issue......lets all have a nice weekend!

Monday morning. We've finally heard from the 2nd District Congressman, hooray. Frank's issued a press release stating he's co-sponsor of a bill to assure that veterans get paid if there's no agreement by Tuesday. He's also done this, "LoBiondo has further instructed the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) of the U.S. House of Representatives to withhold his pay until normal government operations are restored." Who'll run against this stellar Congressman in 2012? Leadership on display, 8/01/2011!
