Livestreaming the RGGI Debate

by: Jeff Gardner

Wed Jul 27, 2011 at 07:00:00 PM EDT

Tonight, the Sierra Club's Jeff Tittel and Americans for Prosperity's Steve Lonegan are debating the merits of New Jersey's (soon to be non-) participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. I'll be there, but I thought I'd post the live stream for those interested who can't make it.

The debate is scheduled for 7p, but if it hasn't quite started yet, you probaby have time to check out a description of the event, and extensive links with background information on RGGI, Click Here. Then, sit back, relax, and enjoy the fireworks:

Oh my freakin' dog... (0.00 / 0)
Germany doesn't have ocean frontage? The Sierra Club is funded by polluters. Tums and acid indigestion - I've watched for 5 minutes and Lonegan & his teabaggers make me want to puke!
I can't watch any longer...

Have to say - (0.00 / 0)
Jeff Tittel did very well at supplying actual facts to some of the loopier questions that came out of this session.

Bergen Grassroots DFA, the hosts and organizers, should be very proud of this program.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

...where many fear to even think about, and usually pulls off things like this. I bet he could have used Lonegan's Tums by the end of the event.  :-)

That's funny (0.00 / 0)
I told the same Tums joke when I got home. Brutal.

Lonegan v. Tittel (0.00 / 0)
Our UStream feed was courtesy AFP, and we thank them for that. I would say, having watched most of the debate that Lonegan won the straw polls on AFP's site. But Tittel took the room, the actual audience at the Ethical Culture School.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

Oh, I learned something alright (4.00 / 1)
As I mentioned during my live tweet of the event, segments of our society are operating with entirely separate sets of facts. It's no wonder we so consistently reach opposite conclusions.
