Another Sweeney failure

by: 12mileseastofTrenton

Tue Jun 28, 2011 at 08:27:03 AM EDT

NJN News is dead because the leader of the New Jersey State senate couldn't get one vote from his party to kill the Adubato giveaway deal.

After lying low, staying silent and doing nothing to try to kill the deal, probably out of fear that his bestest buddy Chris Christie would get angry at him and/or at the instruction of Boss Norcross, Sweeney failed to deliver the 21 votes needed.  Tom Kean, as usual, had no problem getting unanimous support from his caucus for the Republican position.

As with last year's budget, this is another embarassment for the senate "president."  The one thing he's able to do is to sell out Democrats, and deliver for the Republican governor.  Beyond that, Sweeney is an inept, ineffective and incompetent leader.

A failed leader.  A trojan horse.  It's time for a real Democrat to take his place.

Sweeney voted yes (1.00 / 1)
Sweeney backed Weinberg. Voted with her.

Want to blame someone, blame the totally ineffective 6 month battle against this privatization by the Union that represented these people.

Another failure, you bet!

ANOTHER CWA FAILURE!

No mobilization of membership to help these members.

Total silence up until 2 weeks before the final deal.

Talk to NJN employees, they were left alone to fight.

Broken record time (0.00 / 0)
Sweeney voted yes.  Whoopdedoo  He's not just some backbencher.  He's leader.  And his failure to get 21 votes was a leadership failure.  He was mute and inactive throughout.

Even Oliver got it through her house.  And she's as lackluster a leader as we've had.  Sweeney totally failed.

Union Failed (0.00 / 1)
The CWA once again failed to persuade enough legislators to vote for something that was in their interest.

The NJN employees were mostly CWA.

Where was the CWA leadership last night? Home? Sleeping?

Could they not have gotten two more votes?

Sweeney supported NJN. Did CWA?

Sweeney/christie cut a deal and cwa is the problem? (0.00 / 0)

It's clear that sweeney didn't do much because christie wanted the bill passed.  Soon the facts that sweeney is getting paid off in some way by christie will come out.

Lie! (0.00 / 1)
No deal.

Sweeney supported NJN.

Want to blame someone, blame the inept union that has not and did not defent those employees over the past 6 months.

[ Parent ]
Sweeney didn't support njn (0.00 / 0)
Yes, he voted for it, but that was for show.  The real deal happened behind the scene with christie's payoff of sweeney and norcross.

[ Parent ]
LOL. You were " behind the scene" (0.00 / 0)
Were you " in the room". You talk silly and just make up stories.

SWEENEY VOTED TO SAVE NJN!

[ Parent ]
Senators vote (0.00 / 0)
And Sweeney failed to gather enough votes.  Did he even try?  Was this another deal he cut with his buddy Christie?  A favor for Stevie, Sr.?  Or all the above?

Even hapless Oliver got her caucus to vote down the deal.  Sweeney, the incompetent sellout, couldn't do it.

Why not go after Gill ,Cunningham, and Ruiz? (0.00 / 0)
What's with that?

Is it against some left wing code to go after them?

South Jersey stood strong for NJN!

[ Parent ]
Let me break it down (0.00 / 0)
Ruiz -> Audubato

Stack -> Christiecrat (no one is worse)

Gill, Cunningham...???

Ruiz is very corrupt, Stack has no principles at all. Neither we nor their constituents need them.

Gill and Cunningham (0.00 / 0)
I've yet to see an investigation into why they voted the way they did.  Maybe NJN news can look into it.  Oh, wait.

Best bet is to check their bank accounts, or whether their names have been added as titleholders to any real property.

[ Parent ]
bank accounts are private and (0.00 / 0)
I would leave that to Fishman.

Campaign accounts on the other hand are a few clicks away.

I'll be watching

[ Parent ]
I was being somewhat facetious (0.00 / 0)
But only somewhat.

Also don't be surprised if Gill or Cunningham has a show, or is some type of regular, on Adubato TV.

[ Parent ]
Found the answer as to Gill (0.00 / 0)
She does legal work for Essex County.

http://www.salon.com/news/poli...

So, her fees are safe and will probably increase.  But none dare call it corruption.

That leaves only Cunningham.
