Welcome to New Jersey, Ambassador Huntsman

by: Hopeful

About a hundred people attended Jon Huntsman's announcement that he is running for President this morning, about one for every two dozen who attended pizza magnate Herman Cain's announcement. Still, it's nice to see Huntsman chose New Jersey's Liberty State Park. It's a great place for our fellow Americans to come see. Utah's a beautiful place to visit too, as the Utah Democrats show in their new Huntsman video:

It's sad that a red-state governor who was actually too conservative for America has to abandon his positions and flip-flop so much to go even further right, but the Republican party has gone insane. After all, this governor and ambassador is not just being outdrawn by Cain. Last Saturday, more people went to rural Salem County to hear the nuts call for a religious state: "It's about turning around, repenting, and asking God to take over the country once again." That we won't hear more about Huntsman tells us a lot about the Republican party.

ps. It might help for your staff to know what state you are in and how to spell your name.

Cringe-worthy (4.00 / 1)
No wonder they clamor for Chris Christie to jump into the race, from places like Iowa and South Carolina - you know, places where people don't know him as well as we do. Christie - with his helicopters, pugnaciousness, and union-hating - at least wakes them the hell up more than you know, reality.

Few days ago, Newt Gingrich, architect of the 1994 Republican Revolution, Contract With America author, saw his entire key staff up and quit en masse, so inspired were they with him (yo, historian, '94's history).

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

My take (0.00 / 0)
Huntsman presidential announcement was done in Liberty State Park so that he could be filmed with the Statue of Liberty as a backdrop.

Duh.

and Reagan was there (0.00 / 0)
you can't forget that.
