Chris Christie is apparently projecting just a little bit.

"Jerk" (4.00 / 1)
Classy, donchathink?  Extrordinarily statesmanlike.  Worthy of a potential presidential candidate courted by those wealthy folk in the flyover states who consider him "straight talking" and "bold."

My only disapointment was when he talked about shelling out "$21 hundred bucks" so he could get to the real business of cutting off people from Medicaid and vetoing funding for women's health care programs.  NJ only has bucks at the Meadowlands and Monmouth, not in Morris Co. or Trenton.  (h/t Al Sharpton, who was really quite good on The Ed Show for bringing the lesser talked about Christie proposals to national teevee.)

But I digress.  Why didn't he say he shelled out $21 hundred clams for the ride he is owed as govenor?

That would be true blue Jersey.  Ouch! Sorry to all here.  I meant true blue Atlantic City.  Ouch! Sorry AC.  Meant the HBO special.

Jersey has clams all over the shore.  But not in Morris county.

I think it's dollars they have in Morris County.

Then again, maybe iits collateral debt obligations (CDO's)or credit default swaps (CDS's).

So how does $21 hundred CDO's sound?  Or $21 hundred CDS's sound?

OK, I think I'm going over the edge.  Fuggetaboutit.

What Valerie Huttle said back. (4.00 / 1)
We don't usually print press releases, but this one was exactly 40 words, and I'm not inclined to let Christie's word on Valerie Huttle to be the last word. Asw Huttle:

"I'm disappointed that the governor resorted to name-calling but I'm not surprised given his pattern of abusive language towards those who disagree with him.  The public holds elected officials to a higher standard and this rhetoric doesn't warrant further response."

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

John Edwards charged in felony indictment (0.00 / 1)
Who need these damn headlines when we have Christie taking helicopter rides ....I demand a investigation of this

Stop hijacking threads. Consider it a warning. You'll note we posted news of the Edwards indictment 20 minutes after it happened (in Quick Hits, where non-Jersey news goes). If you want an investigation of Edwards, check into the federal grand jury. They spent more than 18 months on it.

If you want an investigation of why "Christie taking helicopter rides" is being written about, perhaps you should sit and think somewhere. "Taking helicopter rides" is what you can do at the airport for $25 for 10 minutes. What the Gov did is commandeer a helicopter not designed of paid for by the taxpayers for his comfort or sense of importance when he is not doing the business of the people. What is at issue is judgment, claims of 'austerity' that don't appear to apply to him, and 'shared sacrifice' he believes he's above. It is properly in the purview of political journalism.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

If Christie Lives To Be 120, His Legacy Will Be... (0.00 / 0)
...that he was the guy that drove up a one way street, put a motorcyclist in the hospital and didn't even get a ticket.....AND that he was the guy who stole a free helicopter ride to which he was not entitled to grandstand about what a great "dad" he was and then promptly stole another ride back to the taxpayer supplied house he lives in so he could "be on time" to meet with out of state contributors urging him to run for president.

Then to top it all off Christie makes some measure of financial restitution while maintaining the "not guilty of anything wrong" plea and blaming everything on the nasty assed press and his political enemies.

Anyone who bought/buys those lines of bs was/is clearly ignorant, delusional or just plain gullible.

Please Mr Christie, run for president........Make our day!!!

Christie makes; the world doesn't take. (0.00 / 0)
All streets are one way for the first shirt--but could you give us a link with info?

Has anyone else noticed that Governor Christie Pinocchio's nose is getting longer?  And I mean longer!!!
