CWA Activists Get The Message Out

by: camp7875

Fri Feb 18, 2011 at 12:25:34 PM EST

CWA activists have been meeting at the Rutgers Labor Center for the past two days. The goal is too learn how too use media to get out a unified message. Attendees were addressed by Les Leopold yesterday concerning getting out the truth about wall street gambling & the financial elitism that caused the demise of middle class America. A thinktank followed with Berlin Rosen to formulate ideas that need to be shared via social networking. Training classes are underway today for Facebook, You Tube and Blogging. Rosi Efthim has shared her knowledge of blogging and enhanced the activists awareness of online opportunities for information sharing. Be on the look out for increased presence and voice of union brothers and sisters as we stand firm for equality!

I'm looking forward to that "increased presence" and am ready to join the demonstrations in Trenton.

What a joke (0.00 / 0)
What " unified message" will these "activists" disseminate?

Please someone tell me!!!

CWA has lost its way. The membership is complacent because they do not feel a " part" of anything.

Hand picked " activists" slap each other on the back thinking that they are part of some movement.

Real unions, strong unions ,get their strength from the bottom up. The leadership listens to the membership.

The average CWA member DOES NO FEEL PART OF ANYTHING!

" CWA activists" ? Give me a break! None of what those people were taught will ever get back to the workplace.

That union could be so powerful, but it is so weak. The truth is that its members have no faith in the "fat" leadership.

What do you really know? (4.00 / 1)
The leadership IS listening to the membership, the question is, will we see YOU on Friday at the Statehouse - with the President of the AFL-CIO Richard Trumka, or will you be here complaining?

Firsamend07, your concerns over the past are not invalid but it is the future that counts. As much as it feels good to gripe about "Would'a, should'a and could'a" it serves no real purpose beyond that initial endorphin rush from venting.

Having attended the meetings at the Rutgers Labor Center, I can tell you, your perception of what was going on there is far from the reality of what occurred.
During those two days, "Activist" members went into message training in order to reinvigorate and re-engage their fellow members for what promises to be a hard battle in the weeks, months and possibly years ahead.

The only back patting I saw was that of Brothers and Sisters unifying in a common cause and vowing solidarity in the coming war on all our rights. People were introduced to tools and avenues of organizing that many had never considered before such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Tools that the Christie administration and his spin-doctors have used to devastating affect.

Fisrtamend07, why not join with us to fight for all of our rights. Trying days are coming and every hand is needed to win this war.

If we don't stand together, we fall alone
That didn't last long.

Join with us on Friday! (0.00 / 0)
How about joining us on Friday, February 25th at the State House in Trenton at noon?

The battle is now and every skirmish matters!

If we don't stand together, we fall alone
That didn't last long.

South Jersey transportation? (0.00 / 0)
Will CWA or the NJEA be offering transportation from South Jersey areas?

I will check with my Branch stewards for information.
