I Know It's Not Monday

by: Senator Loretta Weinberg

Note: Jay went to the state house to testify today - Rosi

But I love Jay Lassiter.  We moved the clean needle bill out of the Senate Health & Human Services Committee today. Interesting vote on that one. We also established an overwhelming transcript to put on the desks of the entire legislature which spells out all the reasons why we must overrule the DHSS regs on Medical Marijuana.  Thank you Senator Nick Scutari for providing the leadership!

thanks, Senator Weinberg for such being so good to me...you're like the Jewish granny i never had and I totally love you back.

It felt really good to pass this ball out of committee with bipartisan support.  That means a lot to me.

Nice shout-out, Jay. Good on you.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

Will the Governor block implimintation (0.00 / 0)
if this becomes law just as he's done with the medical marijuana law?
How does the Governor arbitrarily snuff the will of the people and still maintain high approval ratings? Are New Jersey citizens too busy watching Jersey Shore to notice their governor is really a tin horn dictator who places himself above the law?
It sure does appear as though the Governor has a munchies problem.

Restore democracy and the Constitution for which it stands.

Great job.

Screaming and hollering has a time and place ,but success still depends on knowing how to navigate a law or an issue through the " maize".

Pontificating about " how it should not be that way" is fine, but "it is that way" !

Congrats !

Anti-bully law and now this.

Those few on this site who keep bashing Democratic leadership better wake up and learn the process.

I would rather have a bill passed then be a martyr for a unsuccessful bill.

This site can be very effective if the intelligent people who frequent it use their energy to get things done and not on just complaining.

My compliments Jay!!

Great work! (0.00 / 0)

Sen. Weinberg you did a great job of memorializing for legislators the many problems with the implementation regs for medicinal marijuana.  You built a strong case for the legislature to use in rescinding the regs.

You and Sen. Vitale were wise and courageous in getting the pharmacy needles non-prescription sale bill referred out of committee.  Let's hope the Assembly committee refers it out, that both houses vote in favor and that the governor signs the bill into law. Passage of the bill has long been needed, but it still has its opponents who will try to influence the Governor.

"The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die." - Sen. Ted Kennedy
