 Senator Linda Greenstein
Blue Jersey Radio streams LIVE with New Jersey's latest political buzz, interviews with newsmakers, and your stimulating calls.
Tonight: We're back for our new season (after a short post-election hiatus), and as promised, we're kicking things off with a terrific guest: Assemblywoman Senator Linda Greenstein who was sworn in this week to her new role as one of just ten female Senators in New Jersey.
If you're looking for bright spots coming out of the 2010 elections in New Jersey, you needn't look much further than the 14th Legislative District, where then-Assemblywoman Greenstein won handily in what should have made news as a small repudiation of Governor Christie in his own backyard.
Of course, if Greenstein were a republican, they'd be calling her a "rising star." Instead, we'll have to settle for the democrats' quietly increasing their Senate majority to 24-16 by promoting one of their most independent and progressive Assemblymembers to the upper chamber. (And it sure can't have hurt Rush Holt's race to have Greenstein running so strongly down-ballot!) I'll take results over labels any day!
Have some questions for our newest progressive Senator? Drop 'em in the comments.
Or join us LIVE from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. tonight, and have your say. We'll be ready for your calls at: (646) 652-2773
And, remember, if you miss the show, you can always go back and listen to the archive, or download them on iTunes.
Better yet, plan ahead so you don't miss next week's show, Wednesday, December 15th at 7:30p, when our guest will be: Greenstein's replacement as Chair of the Assembly Judiciary Chairman, Assemblyman Peter Barnes.
