This is an Open Thread. So what are you reading?

Can the Class of 2010 - including Jon Runyan - resist Washington?

  • At an orientation session for new House members, Runyan says both Congress and playing in the NFL "are both kind of negative environments", that serving in Congress is kind of like dealing with the boos and constant criticism of professional football.
  • An Open Letter to Jon Runyan.
  • John Adler facing unclear future.

    Some of Bill's Favorite Bills

  • Including critical stuff happening today.
  • Steven Goldstein on who bullied him growing up, and the consequences in his life. The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights comes up in both houses today, with broad bi-partisan support.

FiveThirtyEight handicaps GOP 2012 White House Contenders

  • Is Christie a candidate to bet against?

    Additional Christie

  • Christie: An Unlikely Rising Republican Star.
  • Republican 2012 Nominee: Who it Won't Be.
  • Bucket of warm spit?

  • Penny-pinching governor lets more than half a billion dollars slip through his fingers.

  • Christie's travel excesses a matter of principle, not money.

  • Christie: We'll have what he's having. Al Doblin on Christie's year.

  • 300th Day in Office: Christie's track record. (Op-Ed)

Redistricting and the Politics of Reform

  • Redistricting 10 years ago, and to come. Excerpt from the book by Donald Scarinci and Mark J. Magyar.
  • Dems brush back Joe D on redistricting.

    Simple, sensible stuff

  • Citizens Campaign rolls out their tool kit before the Gov rolls out his.

    League of Municipalities

  • Expect the 2% property tax cap to be a hot topic in the halls at the annual conference that starts tomorrow.
  • Christie's skipping the League.
  • League of Municipalities says NJ should remove all union officials from its public pension system if it cuts off those in government lobbying organizations.
  • It's not just the League that towns have lobbying for them; more $$ going to private lobbying firms.

Christie & other climate change deniers/skeptics

  • What matters is what NJ's going to do, before it's too late.
  • Rush Holt (physicist & congressman) answers Chris Christie (governor & global warming skeptic).

Asian-Americans Live Well in the Garden State

  • Live longer, earn more & are better educated than other residents of NJ. What accounts for that?

    Camden

  • Poor. Troubled.

More NJ break $50K in starting pay

  • The progression of teachers' starting salaries and districts competing for talent.

    Any old progressives out there?

  • This is for you.

I support the James Zadroga 9/11 Health Care and Compensation Act.  Senator Turtle (R - hyprocristan) does not.

The NY  Daily News has a good editorial.  It does not, however, remind us of the huge number of people, from all over the US of A who came to help at the WTC.

I think our senators in the tri-state area are pretty supportive.  Wouldn't it be something if the Gov was supportive as well.
