NJ6 Poll: Pallone up seven with a week to go

by: Hopeful

Tue Oct 26, 2010 at 12:37:31 PM EDT

The new Monmouth University poll of 647 likely voters from October 22 to 25, 2010 shows an even closer race in NJ6:

Incumbent Democrat Frank Pallone holds a 7 point lead over Tea Party-backed Republican Anna Little, 52% to 45%, according to the Monmouth University Poll.  A poll taken three weeks ago found the incumbent ahead by a 53% to 41% margin among likely voters in this district.

"Anna Little's gains have come from a tremendous grassroots effort in her home region of Monmouth County.  Frank Pallone will need to bet on a strong turnout in more Democratic areas of this district to fend off this challenge," said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute.

Pallone has an identical 52-45 lead among the 7% who have already voted by mail. The President's job approval rating is 45-48 among the NJ6 likely voters.

As I understand the outcomes of polling, I can still safely predict Pallone will win since he is up by seven and above 50% with a week to go. But you'd be best off helping Pallone, Holt, Rothman, and our other Representatives than counting on probability. I think it's safe to say we'll get a close poll for Rush Holt later in the week. Sign up here to volunteer for Pallone.

Don't take anything for granted (4.00 / 1)
As a recent New Yorker, now transplanted back to Jersey (I was born and raised in Livingston), I have two words for Congressman Pallone:  Tom Suozzi.  Suozzi was the formerly popular Nassau County Executive who decided to sit on several million dollars of campaign cash when running for re-election last year, and guess what - he is now the former county executive.  He sat on the money for a planned statewide run, and now that he's out of office, that will probably never happen. I hope Congressman Pallone doesn't take this race for granted, because it's a wacky year where the unknown can happen, and we need him in the House of Representatives next year.

Anna Little deserves this! (0.00 / 0)
I personally believe, that Anna Little will be a stellar leader for the 6th Congressional District of New Jersey. Anna has remarkable leadership qualities such as, being brave and fighting for the district, and the place that she has been a citizen of for a very long time. A leader is someone who starts something and people follow them.  Someone who takes charge in their believes and is persuading.  Her decisions that she makes are important and well thought out because not only is she acting for us, but for herself and her family too!  Anna will help New Jersey come more out of our deficit if she is elected.  Little is smart when it comes to politics, and our economy.  She does not believe in increasing taxes for people and for major businesses.  Anna understands that these major companies hire the citizens of the district to get them out of debt. Why should they be punished? They shouldn't, and that's another great belief for a great leader to have!
Another belief that this outstanding republican has, is pro-life.  She understands that once a baby is fertilized, it is a human.  Every human is protected by the Constitution.  We are protected by certain unalienable rights, such as the right to a pursuit of happiness.  Anna understands that you had a choice before, but not now.  Anna also believes in some great things for education.  She believes that regardless of your financial circumstance you child should be able to attend any school that accompanies their needs. There are many other things Anna believes in that her opponent doesn't. Frank Pallone has been a member of congress for a very long time.  Gov. Chris Christie believes that he needs to be retired from office because of his lost connection with his people, as do I.  He does not care what the people of his district want.  He just wants to be like the government and tax anyone who has a lot of money. Fortunately, you don't have to vote for someone like this.  Vote for Anna Little, someone that will suit the needs of you.

With ads like this (4.00 / 1)
It's no wonder Pallone is in trouble.  Independent advertising like this sleazy piece has something to do with it.  And "Anna's Army" marching through the district knocking on doors of independent voters, while Pallone sits in his office counting his loot (like "Mr. Krabs" in the "Krusty Krab") and dreaming of becoming "Senator Pallone" in 2014, doesn't help either.

Pallone is making the same mistake as Diane Gooch.  He's thinking about the next election instead of this election.  And if he doesn't watch himself he may end up like Diane Gooch, doing ads for some other Democrat's campaign for US Senate instead of his own.

you continue with ignorant statements... (0.00 / 0)
Why don't you visit the website www.VoiceForMyChild.com and ask Frank Pallone why he is blocking H. Con. Res. 198 from an up-or-down vote when it has over 110 Members (bi-partisan) already co-sponsoring it?

note the contrast (0.00 / 0)
with Andrews' huge lead down in Camden.  Pallone cannot be comfortable.
