Who is Nancy Pelosi?

Like other voters in the third district I've been inundated with mailers from the Runyan campaign to vote for him because he will "fire" Nancy Pelosi.  He says very little about John Adler except he votes with Pelosi 90%.  It seems the Runyan strategy is to make this election a referendum on Nancy Pelosi.  He never mentions Obama, and hardly refers to Adeler.  Instead, it's all about Pelosi.

I'm wondering just how many voters who get this junk even know who Pelosi is.  I mean, many voters don't even know who their Congressman is, or even their Senators, except when there is an election.  Does anyone have any polling data on Pelosi's name recognition, especially in the third district?

Personally, I don't think Runyan's strategy will work.  My guess is relatively few voters, even likely voters, recognize her name, and focusing his attacks on her instead of his opponent will likely backfire at the polls.

At least lets hope so.

I (heart) Nancy Pelosi (0.00 / 0)
Ken, I suspect you are wrong about people who recognize Nancy Pelosi.  She is constantly vilified on Fox "News", and so even though people may not know what her role is, but by conflating Adler and Pelosi, the Tea Party and Runyan manage to stir up anger and rage, which is their strategy.

I consider Nancy Pelosi one of the best and most effective members of Congress.  Despite the internal bickering in the Democratic party, she was able to bring the Blue Dogs, Moderates, and Progressives together to pass Health Care Reform, even with the outrageous obstructionism of the Republicans.  She is one of the few consensus builders in Washington, and she should be praised, not smeared.

Pelosi is the absolute (0.00 / 0)
most effective and productive Speaker in American History. Sadly because the Senate is so beholden to Corporate interests and just can't play well together, the House has been tarred with the brush of dysfunction, simply by proximity.

The Senate is what a scientists would call the "rate-limiting step" in passing legislation any in Washington.  The Republicans fear Nancy Pelosi exactly because she is such a powerhouse.

One Vote.  Yours.  It really does matter.

Votes with Pelosi 90%? (0.00 / 0)
Considering the number of votes that are either routine procedural things, or bills declaring it National Rhubarb Month, or naming a post office after someone, 90% sounds pretty low to me.

Lest we forget (0.00 / 0)
If we "fire" Nancy Pelosi, then John "Hell No We Can't" becomes Speaker and second in line to the presidency.
