Christie: You Should See Me When I'm Pissed

by: vmars

Chris Christie is under the impression that he hasn't been combative as Governor, and suggests a reporter wouldn't like to see him as Bruce Banner.

Of course, we have seen him when he's pissed, but it looks more like a hissy fit.

The link under the Christie video goes to a 2007 huntsu post, which itself links to a column by Tom Moran. Looks like Star Ledger changed their nj.com site so that link now goes to Moran's current column list. (still following along?)

But this link at politickernj, quoting Moran, has most of it: (scroll down to the 2nd post).

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

My thoughts? (0.00 / 0)
This pretty well sums them up: http://popup.lala.com/popup/28...

Actually (0.00 / 0)
It is only 3 years and 6 months at this point. Anyone else counting the days?

Or 7 years and 6 months. (0.00 / 0)
Depending on whether or not New Jersey Democrats can come up with someone to defeat him.

And yet... (0.00 / 0)
Uh huh. And the same tell-it-like-it-is Guv will say that Jon Runyan is a qualified and outstanding candidate for Congress.

Partisan games.

A lession in life that elections have consquences ... (4.00 / 1)
and when you heard people whine that they didn't like Corzine, consider why candidate Christie was not putting out any specific plan for how he would deal with the state's budget crisis.  The media really never held Christie's lack of a stated plan up for much examination and the electorate took the chance on voting for the unknown rather than the uncharismatic Corzine.  Now they see the consequences of their gamblers'  mentality when it comes to electing the strongest chief executive in the nation, and it isn't looking real good.  Why is it the more and more I see Governor Christie, my thoughts drift off to Tony Soprano.

Chris Christie Kicks Ass And Wins On Style.... (4.00 / 4)
....it breaks my heart to realize that if Jon Corzine had talked this tough he would have won in a landslide.

The problem with Christie is that he has no real depth or substance.  His positions don't stand up to reason or to a fully informed intelligent debate.    Corzine won all the debates....on paper.

The state Democrats had better lear to FIGHT BACK and to use the SAME direct blunt New Jersey tone and style that Christie uses.   I KNOW that they know how to do this.....say what we will about Steve Sweeney et al, they know how to be aggressive WHEN THEY WANT TO BE!!!

Christie doesn't deserve any respect or deference.   He deserves to have his own ass rhetorically kicked and whipped.

The consequences of Christie's policies will cause great damage and great suffering in the real lives of millions of real New Jerseyans.......and then when that suffering kicks in, he will frame it as being the fault of John Corzine!!!   And if the Democrats are too chicken shit to fight back, that's where this ends up!!!

Frankly, the above applies to the national level as well.   Had the Democrats adopted a more muscular combative tone.....combined with the facts and reason and SUBSTANCE they/we would have never lost the Kennedy Senate seat and we would be living in a different political world right now.

What concerns me is that the Dems actually understand all that I've just said......but that they are afraid of the  wrath of the dirty money and the corrupt interests that all profit from the Republican agenda taking hold.

If you're in business to fuck people over you sure as hell don't want to be "regulated".

If you're a filthy rich person you want to have all the folks who struggle to survive (that's most of the middle class these days) identifying with YOUR interests and all buying into their own fantasies that one day they too can be filthy rich.

The only things the Republican have going for them are fear and greed....and if mainstream Democrats don't have the courage and/or the integrity to fight back, then we will continue to lose elections.

Honest and refreshing? (0.00 / 0)
He's got to be kidding right?  His seeming appreciation for argument as a tool for reform really only applies if one argues from the same side of the issue as he.  Guaranteed any true and meaningful comments that present opposition to his tyrannical policies came from his own rank and file, the employee would be terminated.  Lots of folks working in state government actually know the real solutions but the ideas never get pushed up the line out of fear over what will happen if one tells the emperor that he's naked.  So, honest and refreshing?  I think not.  It's just the same old thing... govern by self serving quid pro quo and cater to the interest groups but conceal it any way necessary.

Kudos, Tom Moran (4.00 / 1)
After Reading Tom Moran's column I became aware of what preceded his question to Christie.  Christie, of course, proceeded to become confrontational and sarcastic with a reporter. An idiotic thing to do.  Christie showed that he cannot answer the most commonplace of political questions without losing his temper.

As for the Star-Ledger pulling the video, I believe it to be a smart move.  Many right wing sites are exploiting it without the background of Moran's article to make a hero out of a fool.  If people are forced to view the video on the S-L's page, they will see Moran's article there as well.
