The APP reports the FBI is searching School Superintendent Michael J. Ritacco's office and home.
FBI agents this morning executed a search warrant in connection with a fraud and corruption investigation at the offices of the Toms River Regional Board of Education and the home of School Superintendent Michael J. Ritacco on 11th Avenue in Seaside Park, sources said.
Some background here:
Toms River Regional Superintendent Michael J. Ritacco, a double major in education and business in college, has been known to blend the two in his career...
Ritacco, who served as chairman of the Toms River-Ocean County Chamber of Commerce in 2004, has styled himself more as a CEO than superintendent and was known for specializing in "alternative revenue streams" and keeping district's tax rate among the lowest in Ocean and Monmouth counties.
Update: NJ 105.5 says "Sources tell us that there may be as many as 12 arrests pending.". Other news agencies (nj.com, app.com) just quote sources who say it's related to "corruption." |
