sorry, I couldn't resist.

Fuck him.  I tried so hard to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he blew that shit before he was even inaugurated.

Asshat.

Scott Garrett - on the wrong side of, well, everything.

So he already broke a major campaign promise not to cut the property tax rebate.  Are we surprised?  Yet another lying Republican in power.  Did voters really expect a different result?  Why?

this time, Senator Sweeney.

After looking at the cuts (0.00 / 0)
what struck me first off what that items used by everyone were not cut as much as items for "special" interests.  It was very consistent with a fiscal conservative's mantra of no money for special interests.

It can't be easy politically for him to go after education in the state that is home to so many colleges and higher institutions of learning and skilled jobs.  AND wealthy Republican parents who want the absolute best for their kids.

But some of the cuts are necessary. Most taxpayers do not associate the education of their children with their high property taxes, yet that is EXACTLY where 2/3 of the money comes from and the item that nobody wants to ever be seen as attacking.  Who doesn't love our children?

But, in order to be responsible, we really do need to get at the heart of the matter - which is education dollars.  By removing the state's help, municipalities will have to look more critically at where they waste money on administration - money that does not go directly to educating our kids.

They haven't had to really be accountable yet.  Most folks don't vote in school elections, and taxpayers rail against the Councils who have zero control over that 2/3 of the budget that is for education.  They don't scream at the school board the way they scream at a Governing body. Which tells me they have absolutely no clue why their property taxes are high and why they should vote in the SCHOOL BOARD elections.

We need to educate our children, but perhaps these cuts will force us to be more strategic and realistic in what we can truly afford.

I do think perhaps cutting school lunches is a cut that he would be willing to restore to negotiate with the Dems.  That is just too cruel to innocent kids whose only good meal that day may be a school lunch. He can't be THAT mean, can he?

One Vote.  Yours.  It really does matter.

"That the people of Morris County ran me out on a rail after one term. It is said that those people are uniquely perceptive and it is true. My constituency is based in those in this state who are cognitively-depraved and are incapable of any thought past the last ten words that came out of the mouth of any squawking head on NJ105. It is for them I serve, because, forsooth, I am very much like them."

"Now, let your eyes follow the card. Only three cards. It's easy to win!"
