March 18 - Make Wall Street Pay! Good Jobs Now Rally in Jersey City

by: Hudson County AFL-CIO

Wed Mar 10, 2010 at 11:12:19 AM EST

On Thursday, March 18, 2010, union members and community allies will join together at Owen Grundy Park in Jersey City to demand good jobs now. America needs 11 million jobs and big Wall Street banks should pay to rebuild jobs and the economy they helped destroy.

The rally will be held from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Owen Grundy Park at Exchange Place in the heart of Jersey City's financial district, right across the Hudson River from Wall Street.

Let us know you'll be there to fight for good jobs. Register here.
Hudson County AFL-CIO :: March 18 - Make Wall Street Pay! Good Jobs Now Rally in Jersey City
Help spread the word. Download a flyer for the rally.

This rally is only one of hundreds being held across the country from March 15 to 26  to hold Wall Street accountable in our fight for good jobs.

Big Wall Street banks helped cause the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Millions of Americans have lost their jobs, homes and retirement savings. But in 2009, the biggest Wall Street banks gave their execs $145 billion in pay and bonuses.

We are calling on Wall Street to
  • Stop refusing to pay their fair share to restore jobs
  • Stop fighting financial reform
  • Start lending to our communities, small businesses and others starved for credit
Join the Hudson County Central Labor Council on March 18 in our fight for good jobs. The time has come for Wall Street to pay for repairing the economy they helped destroy.

I'd love to stick it to Goldman Sachs.  I hope that you guys get good attendance numbers-- would you mind if I cross post this elsewhere?

If you don't hear an answer back on that question directly, I'm going to go ahead and say the group would not mind you cross-posting and would be happy you helped to spread the word.

It's not a particularly snappy signature, but here's what I think we need in the next NJ Democratic State Chair.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. We had some complications with the original location and wanted to make sure we had a location secured before it got posted to too many places.

The rally will be in the heart of Jersey City's financial district, only 3 blocks from Goldman Sachs and directly across the Hudson River from Wall Street.

We hope to see all of our Blue Jersey friends there in the fight for goo jobs!

In Solidarity,
Hudson County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO
