....the fact is that most every NJ official is either involved with, or knows of, corrupt activity.    

Note, that much of the corruption is perfectly (technically) legal so these people aren't all (technically) criminals and won't all be indicted.   But it's clear that on a moral (if not legal) basis there are all manner of sweetheart deals and kickbacks and traded favors that cumulatively tend to accrue to the benefit of the rich and powerful and to the detriment of the poor and powerless.    That's de facto systemic corruption.

Look at the kind of horrendously systematic corruption that existed/exists in a machine operation like the BCDO and the best Christie could do was to bust Ferriero on relatively minor charges that it seems the Bush Supreme Court will find unconstitutional because they'll say that to expect "honest services" from officials is too vague a term!   rotflmao

Barry is right, NJ politics is a joke; and unless we grow a much more massive and active progressive movement; it shall remain so.
